Materials trader improvement

Can we have a "just give me things" button for the mat traders?

It saves the time needed to go to/from places like Dav's Hope and all the re-logging to get materials then the trading up/down to get what we actually wanted.

I know many people wonder why there isn't simply single unified Material Traders at Engineers, but clearly the current mechanics/design is aimed at cleverly elevating gameplay. Indeed, you should have to fly around each nearby planet twice to facilitate each and every transaction with a Material Trader to add yet more depth and challenge to this clever design IMHO!

Clearly if flying from A to B to A just for the challenge/depth of it is such worthwhile gameplay, then flying from A to A must be worthwhile too surely :)

I can't wait to see similar gameplay depth employed with space legs. Maybe we can walk along on treadmills for 10 mins to open doors and the like...

It's all dreadful apart from the one bit I like (c) elite critics

It's just more needless travelling with spreadsheet in hand, being palmed off as worthwhile/enjoyable gameplay time IMHO.

There's also gameplay and time sponges being employed collecting materials. Why add in an unchallening time sponge just to swap X material to Y?

Unify the traders into a single type and put them at engineers... Done...

Well, yes.

It was all just a grind when you had to hunt around for mat's, go to an engineer and "spend" them on a modification. Total dullsville.

Now, however, you get to spend much more time hunting for mat's and then throwing them away on intermediate upgrades and then you have the option of either spending a heap more time looking for even more mat's or you can spend a heap of time randomly visiting dozens of stations in the hope of finding a mat-trader instead.

It's a complete game-changer and provides hours of endless entertainment.

I don't want to have to press that lots of times though - I mean who thinks that makes good gameplay? Can't the game just understand I will have done those things and let me have it without me getting horribly bored in the process?

Ahhh... the old telepathic user interface. When the customer doesn't know what he wants, but knows exactly that it's not this.

We're working on it. Expect it to be released next year. Year after that, latest. Promise.

Grade 5s are not that hard to find and collect. It just takes a little research and some time. Not an unreasonable amount of time, but time.

Sounds like all those whining and griping want everything dropped in their lazy laps after putting in next to ZERO effort.

Sorry dudes... You do have to actually play this game to reap and rewards from it.

I spent the last two weeks stocking up on G5 mats and data. I was able to totally fill out my entire inventory of mats and data in the first hour of playing 3.0. If I can do it, than anyone can do it.

You do need to have the motivation to actually PLAY the game though. ED does not currently play itself.

Interesting that many of the people complaining about the materials and mat traders tend to be the ones sitting at davs hope and relogging.

I have an idea, play the game and get your materials through playing instead of wasting hours relogging! No wonder you are frusterated! I would be too if I just kept staring at the relog screen.

All part of the "Keep them logged-in for as long as possible in order to impress the share-holders" paradigm.

Agreed. I mean, why should I have to go eatn the credits to buy an Anaconda, shouldn't the game just realize that I've done the things to make the credits!?! And I want to be elite in combat, shouldn't the game just give that to me.... or I think the game should just let me be able to buy my ranking.

Ah, if only we could all be as smart and patronizing as you...

Some of us actually like to have fun, not inane repetitive boredom shoved down our throats.

Share-holders are impressed by profits, not player numbers. You can have as many players as you like, but if they're not spending on microtransasctions or buying new DLC, then it amounts to nothing.

I spent the last couple of weeks doing the same thing.

The only difference is that you now have the choice of either hunting around to stockpile low/mid-tier mat's or hunting around for a mat' trader.
And then, when you get to an engineer, you get to click your mouse a couple of dozen times to achieve the upgrade you want.
That's some pretty revolutionary entertainment, right there.
Real edge-of-the-seat stuff.

Would it not have been simpler if you could just arrive at an engineer, they'd show you a list of all the mod's you have mat's for and then you select one?
