One of my favorite activities in horizons is the scour systems for unique landscapes to land on such as planets close to the star, ring planets, planets orbiting extremely close, etc.
Unfortunately, like many others I have a graphics card that works very well for playing but less phenomenal for screenshots. In game, I don't use AA or SS in favor of fps, but screenshots suffer from this.
FD, I propose a solution!
You will create a service of sorts on your end that will perform as follows :
User hits a unique screenshot key for "run screenshot". This submits to your service the following information (examples):
- System and camera location / direction
- UI / debug state etc..
- Position, rotation, etc for all visible objects (ships, combat, etc). This could be tough but due to instance limit, it's feasible.
- user account name
The service then queues up a list of these screenshots and processes them through the day.
The key feature is that on your end you would have a private server that can reproduce the screenshot instance on 4k, uses max end gfx cards, ultra high settings. The screenshot you generate is then later made available to the user account in the store (account-restricted) with a small micro transaction fee.
This is something I would definitely pay for, and for a small enough price I'd likely do it frequently.
The micro transaction would be balanced by allowing people with high to low end systems be able to document their journeys without expensive rigs and without sacrificing fps.
