I really like the Baron, the only aspect that is somewhat flawed is the engine management - throttle, mix and RPM for both engines is a bit of an overkill, and keyboard assignment for some reason cannot adjust them (with the exception of throttle) at the same scale.

  • Ocean rendering has been improved (waves scale, foam and reflections)
  • Water mask has been edited to display actual aerial image near the shore in some areas
  • Luminance has been tweaked for some photogrammetry cities (Napoli, Darwin, San Gorgonio, Las Vegas)
  • Fixed terraforming issue which was causing issues in KTEX airport
  • Water elevation has been updated to improve rivers (Missouri River and around Toronto for example) and lakes (center of Canada)
  • Fixed detail map rendering around runway/taxiway borders

Unfortunately this is broken - now we're* getting lightning when we are NOT supposed to! I've got a partly to mostly cloudy day with relatively thin cloud cover, and lightning is flashing all over like War Of The Worlds... Not impressed!

* perhaps I should say "me're" since so far I'm the only one to confirm this phenomenon.

You clearly seem to have very bad luck with the game's weather. I wonder if it's a localized issue with the live weather? Do you usually fly in specific countries, or does it happen all over the world?

I'm not implying you're making stuff up, just really saying you're having bad "luck" with the game weather. People have been having varying experiences with each patch, for instance last patch (before today) fixed the live weather for me, but not for you, others reported the wind bug still persisting for them.

Another small stint of my Italy roundtrip yesterday, along the coast of Liguria on the Tirrenian Sea, Albenga-Savona-Genova with landing at Genova Sestri (LIMJ).

On arriving at Genova, I couldn't refrain from flying along the Polcevera river and take a look at how the now infamous Morandi bridge, which collapsed in 2018 taking away several lives with it, looked from Bing maps:

It still has the old bridge stump but no traces of rubbles in the middle, so it's probably aerial footage from the first months of 2019, before the remains got demolished to make way for the new bridge. Checked on Google Maps and they have fotogrammetry of the actual still fresh rubbles. I hope to see updated images soon, from both.

There's a new plane available in the marketplace, the Carenado M20R Ovation.

As I simply can't resist airplanes, after struggling a bit with my conscience, my conscience lost (again) and I bought it...

It;s a small passenger plane on the same level "on paper" as the Beechcraft Bonanza G36, and I got to say I'quite happy with it, from the 3 added aircraft since release, this is the one I'm enjoying the most.

It has a vintage interior, mostly gauges but also an older version of the garmin, it's a very nice touch! Cockpit is very nice, like the other plane from Carenado, clearly there was attention to detail here. The plane feels like a proper small passenger plane, feels heavy, sturdy and stable, very enjoyable. Love the retro-high-tech interior!

Well, updated the game, and then, since I installed the Japan update, I decided that instead of practicing my landings in the Bonanza or DA64 (preferring the DA64 at the moment), I'd take a jaunt in the new scenery in my trusty 172. :)

Someone put a big mountain in the way...

Well, the landing was actually Ok, but now I think I'll just leave this here... :p Hope I'm not in the way.

Nice to see that some people are enjoying themselves in this. Personally - totally hacked off with CTDs and BSDs - done all the "known issues" workarounds but still not able to complete a flight in three weeks. Having spent ages loading the game, setting up the aircraft, inputting the flight plan and nav frequencies only to have a CTD or that even more annoying blue screen system reset in the middle of your flight is soul-destroying.

Come back X-Plane 11, all is forgiven.

(.... and still no sign of the free "Aviator's Club" liveries either.)

I'm sorry to hear this, Para, as I can honestly say, I haven't had a CTD or BSD even during Alphas/Betas. There are definitely still some glitches but it isn't stopping me flying and enjoying the game. I can't think of anyway to help out... :-(
