I am...

It picked up both as being present but had no mappings for either. I set up my pedals first as the number of assignments was low! ;)

Stick/Throttle is an issue as they are blank but the button assignments in the pic are wrong. Best way to assign on this is to go to the feature you want to assign - e.g. elevator axis, click on the very top box and then move the joystick forwards and backwards to assign the axis. Don't forget to hit validate and when you've done what you want hit F11 to save the whole assignment profile...

I got it fixed here. Step 1 was to download install the latest logitech drivers (they do work on my old original pre-madcatz Saitek), but it still didn't show up. Step 2 was to tell Steam not to manage controllers for this game ("Forced off" setting in the game properties). Hotas and rudder pedals both detected and all preset perfectly.

Has anyone figured out how to set the elevator trim on light aircraft without continuous pilot induced oscillations? I've tried different axis, using the a keypress and the best I've come up with is to go to the external view, where you can see a slider and that helps you make very small adjustments. The darn thing is just too sensitive and it can take minutes to set it.

heh, I expect a group to add Eindhoven soon though. It is the second largest airfield in the Netherlands IIRC and somehow it is completely omitted whereas much small airfields are included (Teuge, Eelde and such).

Maastricht with Andre Rieu orchestra playing in the central square or no Dutch dlc buy! :p

I will get to NZ there, eventually... :) I just realized though that my Pacific leg of the trip is compromised as the airport I added to link the sparse regions coming through Midway (Wake island I think) has no airport added yet. Even more disappointing that Faroe Islands has no airport even though it was one of the most scenic landings I've every experienced. :(

For the moment doing 'hutton' trips with AP on towards Irkutsk/Lake Baikal, that's where the huge expanses and pine forests succumb to more scenic landscapes.
BTW I will check out Mt Aso too, that's the volcano I visited when I was in Japan. :)

Edit: flying through grease right now (we have bank holiday for the rest of the wek :p ), the clouds are amazing whenever I pop out of them!

No MDY? No WAK? AAAAAAK!

I found another inaccuracy last night. I live in nowhereland rural America, yet at night FS has all the back roads lit up like the Vegas strip. WUT??? I confess my disappointment (and eagerness for proper scenery editing tools). Almost as bad, the lights that should be there - specifically, the many towers in my region, are missing. How does a flight simulator miss huge radio towers? Aren't this cataloged as "navigational hazards" or something IRL?
Near Fordland Missouri, there are 2,000 foot/600 meter towers. At least three of them. All of Springfield/Branson MO, much of Arkansas, and central Missouri gets it's TV from them. There are lots of others around the world.

Yep, you just unzip it into the 'Community' folder, activate it in the Content Manager in-game, and away you go.
This thrills me beyond measure! Now I just need to find some simple tools to edit scenery. Give me a way to identify buildings for autogen to begin with. After than, give me a way to add my own assets (would love to be able to use Sketchup).

I think the lights are a deliberate decision for VFR night flights. You're supposed to use the roads for navigation. You can't do that if they're all in darkness. 🤷‍♀️

As for the radio towers - yeah, it has problems with any kind of tower it seems. They're either not there at all, or they get converted into hotels.
A quarter of the hotels in the US are going bankrupt right now...

Yes, all the major issues I've had with this I can trace back to alt-Tabbing.

Don't do it, kids. Just let it do it's thing, or quit the sim. At least until it's patched out.

Crikey, that's expensive. I knew it cost money - but not quite that much.

When you look at it like that, I suppose people spending thousands on controllers & building their own cockpits etc doesn't seem so outlandish.
You haven't yet seen the insurance, the 200 hours a year to stay current, the medicals.... :(

When you say 'solo' flight - you have a qualified pilot with you, right? I mean the skies aren't full of unqualified pilots trying to get their 45 hours in?!
I'm using a T-Flight Hotas 4, which is fine for messing about in Elite (what I bought it for), but I think I definitely need something more up-market for this.

Is the Warthog still the daddy, or is there something better/cheaper out there now?
After about ten hours, solo flights are common. The CFII has to sign off on them.

I spent half a months rent on a Warthog about seven years ago, and it has not failed me yet. With my paws, that's a statement.

More questions:

1) Has anyone seen contrails from other jets in the game, either AI or other players?
2) How does precache influence the rolling cache? If I precache an area in low quality, will it stream in higher quality data when I fly there, or have I inadvertently locked that region into low quality only?
3) I forgot, will ask later :p
