Game Discussions Microsoft Flight Simulator

Big one here, because it's not like I'm forking out too often on these and they don't exactly become deprecated quickly. XP11 was 3 years ago, and before that, FSX, well, I can't even remember. Always nice to have more airplanes to vary pleasures, and handcrafted Schipol, Heathrow, Frankfurt will bring back memories. Looking forward to the neverending taxiing in Schipol. :ROFLMAO:

Hmmm... got to thinking about this and... I'm almost tempted to play FS20 the way I play Elite: Fly around from station/planet to station/planet, park there and then resume the journey from that location later. In other words, explore.

That's exactly how I've been playing flight sims for over ten years now and it's wonderful. With FSE (Flight Sim Economy) it's enforced if you own a plane because where you land is where you take off from next time. Also fuel becomes important as not all airports have fuel on site so you have to plan your flights and jobs carefully.

I try and gravitate towards Steam wherever I can, just for practical reasons. Steam runs all the time - I have to manually fire up any other game launcher. So I also have to bear in mind that any settings or changes I make to the Gamepass version will not carry over to Steam. There's even a risk that addons will be the same.

And right now I basically feel the same way, however I can't deny I've become rather excited by the whole prospect of this sim after watching so many videos. I could see me getting into this in a very big & expensive way in the future. I'm starting to compile a rather large list of places to go and things to do in this "game", once I earn my wings.

Time will tell on that, but I know that if I do, I'll regret not buying the Premium edition when I had the chance. Because as things stand, unless it runs like an absolute dog (and I don't think it will, my PC is OK), there's no question I won't be relying on the Gamepass rental and I will be buying this. It's even making me question my "no pre-ordering games ever" rule. That's saying something.

Thats a great point about Steam. It is the same for me and if the game pass version hooks me and I end up going full pc, Stesm is where I would rebuy and get Deluxe addition. Otherwise I will just coast it in game pass.

Looking forward to exploring our area with my daughter and giving her a more zoomed put perspective of life and the world. Can't wait to see Logan and TF Green air ports near me. Been to them and flown a few times and can't wait to experience them all from the pilots perspective.

Super duper deluxe edition for me... I know I would get it anyway, extra airplanes in flight sims are like salted honey peanuts for me, there is just no way I can resist them, so might as well do it now :)
The only thing that I think would be nice to have in Premium would be Schiphol (Amsterdam) airport, simply because I've been there so many times, but I can live without it. It's not like there's not plenty more of the world to discover and play with. So I'm torn between what I said, and simply buying Standard and saving the £50 or so towards buying city addons, which would be more interesting & fun to visit.

Hopefully they won't withdraw the option from sale too quickly and I have time to make the choice. Because as things stand, I don't even know if it will run well on my PC. That's what the Gamepass install is for.

Hell, considering that I spent the difference in a grocery store yesterday on misc. items, I didn't hesitate much, especially considering the $$$ hole I started digging by buying various things for this sim.
To me the key items in premium deluxe were the additional planes - the standard deluxe doesn't bring much, but I'm very interested in the Virus, and once I get the hang of it in the Citation Longitude and 787.

I wouldn't spend on the airports themselves, because I'd hazard a guess I will visit most of them only once. Having said that, I often had IRL transfers on some of the handcrafted ones, so their detailed looks may trigger some nice flashbacks. :)

This is definitely my thing, tutorials aside I won't teleport anywhere. So FSE basically binds your options in-game? If yes, how it knows which airport has fuel?

Check the date. That's 23:00 UTC today, which is midnight tonight here in the UK at least.

I sort of see the positive side that it will be released tomorrow 6:00 AM CET on Steam, I won't be 'forced' for a very late night session with downloading and setting up the game. :)
On Reddit many are changing their system clock to Kiribati, if that works, they will start downloading in a couple of hours.

LOL... good for them. I'm seeing it as a long-term, slow-burner kind of thing anyway - so a few hours here or there isn't going to make much difference. I'll be going through the tutorials first, and there's about 30 hours of those to get your basic wings. I'm excited for it, but I can wait. Once I learn to fly, then I'll start exploring properly.

Saying that though, I'll probably still be leaving my PC on overnight downloading it.
