Microtransations?

Hi all, I'm very excited about this game but before I pre-order this game I got only one question will microtransations be implemented? If no you get money, if yes hell no you will not get my money. :)

There will likely be DLC packs down the line with all new content, but there won’t be loot crates or any trash like that. It’s not something FDev normally does.

Confirmed that there's no loot crates.

I expect DLC to be similar to other Frontier games. I think PC had DLC packs with extra content and also some Free LC. Elite Dangerous I think basically had cosmetics as microtransactions/DLC.

They don't seem to do any of the crap like loot crates, experience boosts, extra cash and locking items behind hundreds of hours of gameplay to try and get people to buy to speed up the process the way EA do.

I'm so happy to hear this, thank you I really appreciate this :) I love seeing company's are doing the right thing for the families out there.

I hope the DLC are free.
I'm already gonna pay £60~, don't wanna have to pay more.
That's asking a bit too much. If the DLCs are worth it the content, they deserved to be paid, unless they give us a game with almost no content that needs to be filled with paid DLCs.

Maybe they should put Season Pass along with for those who pre-order.
I know the game will get cheaper over time, but £60 seems like a lot for when I don't know how much content will be in Jurassic World: Evolution from release.

So you want Frontier to provide things to you for free. Okay.
How does Frontier make money from this, how is this a sustainable business model? The cost of the game was likely used to balance out the cost of developing the game in the first place; and there's no business in making something that doesn't make the company any money.

Given the rising costs of everything.. £60 is not much. Most games are multi-million Dollar projects. At just 1 million GBP, Frontier would need to sell 16,666 copies of JWE to make budget.
To put that into perspective; JWE is likely quite a bit over 1 million GBP; and they've only sold 8,813 copies on Steam to date (according to SteamSpy).

Do you have any figures for how many console copies have been sold? This is a Multiplatform after all.

Well, they do have micro-transactions in Elite Dangerous for... cosmetics. Which change absolutely nothing else that visuals. And they won't do that for dinosaur skins as we already know genes will alter that.

I've had a look, but only found one site that does the same, or similar, as SteamSpy - unfortunately, it doesn't have JWE on it.
For some reason, Sony and Microsoft don't like to give out sales figures, or make them available, like Valve does on Steam. Which sucks; cos I'm interested to see the total number of units sold thus far.

The Deluxe version has skins for 'copters / vehicles plus extra dinos - so that may be a thing, microtransactions for that type of stuff, though I'm not sure how many will bother as the game is single player. FD typically give cosmetics for microtransactions, not P2W (though I don't know if different dinos will attract more customers and make the game easier?)

Dlc and mabe some skins/extra items, but it won't be like a phone game where you have the option to pay to speed up times or anyhting like that.

That would be better way of doing it.
Dinosaur cosmetic skins being paid with real money would be pointless anyway.
I'm just gonna say that if they had DLC's and they're weren't pricey, I think it would be fair.
Other games I've played had free updates with newer contents, I'm just not used to buying DLC's.
