See, I have no issue with there being cosmetic items for sale in this game, and have bought the odd bobblehead, paint job, etc, over the years.

But I despise virtual currencies. They cynically obfuscate what items actually cost and force you to pay more than you need to. Sure, you can spend the change later, but if an item costs £2, I don't want to have to cough up a minimum of £3 to get it. And that's why I refuse to buy any ARX.

So those Stygian paints seem to be Vibrant Blue/Green/Yellow/Orange/Purple/Red but with a Christmassy metallic look applied.

I don't know how expensive the paint ingredients are these days, but is it really necessary to make them OVER FIVE TIMES more expensive than the Vibrant equivalents? :/

I actually like some of them but holy macaroni. That's steep pricing for a Black Friday sale.

I suppose it is all relative, I'm going to put 20€ to beer and 10€ to Elite paintjobs, and next Sunday the former will be miraculously converted to...

I just had a look at them in-game, I have to admit they look darn good. If I got 3 of them (Blue/Green/Red) I'd be getting away with spending €5.99 as I have some Arx balance left, so could get the Graphite one for the Cutter for free.

The irony of me contemplating this after my previous posts above is not lost on me, by the way. Whale ahoi!🐳

G-d, what a bunch of whiners. Whine for weeks for the black paints, now whining about the price, someone even whined there was no "discount" for the limited skins. I think FDev even went and made the Midnight Black skins available for ALL ships, too. Something they have never done, before.

I agree the in-game "store" sucks now: click,click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, I am getting a callus on my clicking finger, it would have made sense to simply convert the FDev online store to ARX but ... FDev.

My fleet of little black ships is finally complete ... now it's Dark.

PS: the Stygian skins look promising. My Corvette looks great in Stygian Red. Looking forward to more Gold and Chrome at some point.

I never bought one. I compared them with the other plain colored skins who are 640, and I thought black Friday was a concept to sell stuff at a reduced price. I'm clearly wrong.

I hoped the price about 1200 Arx. I wanted it for the Phantom, Krait MkII, and for Corvette. 😢With this price it wasn't question to in this year only my ❤Phantom get this. Anyway, she looks stunning now.

I believe that the midnight black skins for the Mamba and Krait Phantom are new this year, as those ships were only released in the Q4 update (a few weeks after last year's sale).

No they added those for sale after their release actually, i got those last year.

And omg the stygian paintjobs are actually colored chrome paintjobs ! Woohoo finally i have blue chrome for my ships :D

Players who bought the game before about October 2015 got given a full set of black paints (for every ship that was in the game at that time) for free. The 'midnight black' paintjobs are those paints, which were subsequently made available for sale once per year at Black Friday for players who did not qualify to get them free.

And Lifetime Expansion Pass owners received a bunch more of them last year
