Min maxing with new engineers

Engineering question:
I have 2 fsd’s of the same size with “legacy” engineering. One has 58 ly, the other has 62 ly.
If I transfer them to the new engineering, will they both have the same end potential, or will the one that started better end better?
Or do you get a superior end result with starting from scratch?

If you convert them they will both be the top tier of the grade below what they were before - ie. A Grade 5 will become top of Grade 4. They will both be identical.

If you got amazing rolls they will probably bit a bit worse than they were before, but you can continue to upgrade them to the top of grade 5.

The amazing rolls (or "God Rolls") have been replaced with experimental effects. So you can now choose to apply certain special effects on top (like are larger mass allowance or more fuel per jump).

If I were you I'd buy another FSD of the same type and try modding it from scratch. See if it gives you better numbers or not.

Wherever you start converting to new system has identical end results.

I took all my fsd to farseer and converted and applied mass manager, or deep charge for smaller ones.

With just the conversion to max g4 a good number of them were better than the original g5 roll, probably the ones where I took first roll and didn't repeat for max.

Now I just need tons on datamined wake exceptions.

This is what I was looking for! So it sounds like in the end it doesn’t matter and we all have same max potential
