Mining

Are your minerals in the refinery at 100%? If they are, it means you need some cargo space. If they are less than 100%, keep mining and make sure you have some free cargo space :)

Then keep mining until they reach 100% so they can be refined into 1 ton of mineral and appear in your cargo space. If you don't plan to mine anymore of that mineral, you can also dump it by jettison.

Additionally, as you mine you will pick up a variety of minerals. Not all of them will be valuable, and indeed, you may only have set out to get (insert name of valuable mineral here).

If you are picking up minerals that you don't want, you can add them to the ignore list through the 'Contacts' tab of the 'External' panel. Your limpets will only collect things that are not on the ignore list. Once (insert name of cheap material here) is on the ignore list, then use the eject button next to any refinery hoppers containing it, to free the hopper for the good stuff....

At the end of a successful mining run, if your hold is full, you can continue to mine until all refinery hoppers are full of good stuff as well. Then when you sell the main hold, the refinery will process the hoppers and produce a few more tonnes to sell....

Say you have a refinery with 4 bins, but the rocks you're mining have 7 different ores. After fragments from 4 different ores have gone into your refinery, there will be no bin for the 5th until one of the occupied bins reaches 100% of the ores in them, but that won't happen because your limpets will be holding the other types of ore unable to drop them in a bin.

You should only mine the same number of different ores as you have bins, so in the case above, put 3 of the ores on the ignore list so that your limpets won't pick them up and the remaining 4 ores will each have their own bin.
