Minor factions and wars

The more I google the more confused I am getting...

Me and a team of pilots have been working on a system, we have successfully managed to equalize the faction influence to the leader and we are hoping to take over the system.

Currently the faction status is Pending war.

However the faction we need to fight is fighting a war in a different system will this pose a problem for us? do we have to wait for that war to end?

They changed the “One state per faction” rule.

Now one faction can be at war in multiple systems.
