Unfortunately our target is already at war so it can't trigger. If we wait until that finishes and then balance influence we can trigger an election or war for the orbital station. Once that's won we can push to 60% to trigger the conflict for the planet station. Thus BGS stuff is fiddly
It won’t work that way unfortunately. Pushing 60% starts war/election with the controlling faction. Once you own that starport YOU will be the controlling faction, so to take the surface port you’ll need to match inf.
Whichever way you wish to go is your choice,
but make sure you have a plan in place.

Do factions require human interaction to dynamically change? Perhaps there are "things in motion" in the BGS that are continuing the rise in influence, like an economic boon or the recently won election. IDK, I'm totally speculating.

Good day Misfits, and welcome to our brand new newsletter. those who remember the old Weekly news bulletin will know what to expect, to our new readers all i can say is don't believe what you read in other less respectable news outlets (i am looking at you Galnet).
so without further ado here is what making the news around Misfit Towers...
Membership holds steady as Faction Permit is Granted...
Over resent months things at our temporary office's in Bauschinger City's commercial district were a little up and down, we lost members due to everything from retirement to at least one prison term for trying to kidnap the Emperor's Cat. yet things seem to be getting back to normal as this past week or so we finally received our Faction Licence from the Pilot's Federation, and with that came a swanky new building and also a chance to finally compete for control of the system. as of writing this article preparations are underway for our first election against our friendly rivals the R.P.A., and we at MSR faction news are hoping for a good clean election, and wish everyone involved the best of luck.
Misfit's aid Wolves of Jonai build a "Shiney" new station...
Two weeks ago a group of misfit's lead by Director Acidburn took a trip to Grant Dock, in the HR 7047 system to help supply the Wolves of Jonai with materials for building a new asteroid station with all the much needed services, but due to an economic twist of fate far more palladium was delivered and has resulted in the yet to be officially named station being nicknamed "Sparkle Station". in other news there have been rumours of certain individual's from our faction helping themselves to bathfittings for there ship cabins and private quarters back at Misfit Towers, whilst there is no concrete evidence of any wrong doing any pilots seen with palladium fittings will need to produce a receipt or have them confiscated and returned.
Mystery as MSR influence is boosted...
As last week ended and we had established a foot hold at Bava, rumours of anonymous contributors to our rise started circulating around Misfit Towers. and after an board lead inquiry it was indeed found that a unseen hand was tipping the scales in our favour, even after a 24 hour pause to our operations it was still showeing M.S.R. gaining popularity that should not of been there. investigations are on going and diplomats are in talks with the RPA counterparts to find out why this is happening so soon after gaining faction status, and M.S.R. Faction news will as always keep everyone updated as information filters down from the higher ups.
And finally...
with the wealth of news pouring in to our new offices, it was brought to our attention that our Director was in need of emergency refueling during a MSR record breaking 32,000 ton trade run for the wolves of jonai. it happened in the kin system after ground crew at the supply station had forgot to refuel the Imperial Cutter Andromeda Ascendant while cargo was being loaded. as Director Acidburn traveled back to grant dock with 712 tons of Palladium, the FSD failed to engage after setting course for HR 7047. checking fuel gauges it was found that there was barely enough fuel to even land on near by planets to wait for rescue, commander Qglfang around the same time was unloading his cargo of palladium when the call came that the boss was out of fuel. with calm perfection commander Qglfang or Fang to his friends ordered his search and rescue fitted anaconda and within an hour or 2 was flying back with the boss not far behind cursing ground crew for delaying the trip. the moral of this tail is don't trust ground crew without supervision.

don't worry its an election not a war, so you can just take election missions and influence missions until we win it. until the election starts we need you and any others who are supporting us to help factions below 3%, we need to make sure no rogue factions get in by the back door.
