Could some one, peferably someone from FDev please explain how high tech modules such as a the 8A powerplant be purchased and fitted when the only place that sells them dose not have landing pads large enough to dock the ship sizes that require these modules ? [Colonia Orbital]

I doubt there is a reason beyond, "Oops."

It looks like production in Colonia can produce all the A-rated modules, but not necessarily all at once. They were available at Jaques previously and will presumably be back in stock there at some point. Stock refresh appears to be on Tuesdays.

I assume the logic is:
- unless you read the journal entries, you'd never actually know what modules were available that are too large for the ship to fit, so it's not a big deal if oversized ones are technically there because no-one should notice
- if they put in a specific rule that e.g. size 8 powerplants could never appear at outposts, then if they later bring out a medium ship with a size 8 powerplant, they'd have to then go back and take that "no size 8 plants at outposts" rule out. (Not a hypothetical situation: until the introduction of the Federal bricks in 1.3, there was no medium ship which needed life support over size 4, for example ... but nowadays there are several)

There's a few places here and there selling size 8 FSDs, and there's no ship which can fit them at all.
