"Mission Board" Tab for the Galaxy Map

When I have a course plotted to a new system, I'd like to be able to access a limited version of the mission board, showing only mission "nearby" my currently plotted route (this could be a static value or an adjustable slider, and could be measured in lightyears or by the max-load jump range of my current ship). Selecting this mode would show new markers on the galaxy map, indicating a mission is available (and doable based on my current loadout) with a destination in that system.

When a marked system is clicked on in the galaxy map, when in "Mission" mode, I'd like to get an overlay (still in the Galaxy Map, similar to the current "System Missions" overlay) giving a quick summary of each available mission - quickly listing threat level, mission name, cargo / cabin requirements, faction offering it & their government type, and rewards.

I should be able to highlight a mission from there, for an additional pop-out overlay (so still in the Galaxy Map, still able to see all available mission summaries) showing the full mission info.

From there, I should be able to have a button that will accept the mission and auto-load the cargo or passengers with a single click. I should have a another button that will, with a single click, plot a new route to my original destination, but including a stop for my new mission. If I obtain missions in multiple systems this way, the route-plotting functionality should include destinations for every mission I obtain when updating my route.

When I dock at the destination for a given mission, I should have a "quick select" option, in the same way when docking there are quick options to repair, refuel, or rearm, to turn in all missions applicable to that destination. This should auto-remove mission cargo / passengers without additional clicking, but could still reuse the existing mission-system screens for selecting payment for mission completion.

Such a system would vastly improve the frequency with which I interact with the mission system, and the enjoyment I obtain from doing missions in the game. I suspect I am not alone in this.

This all seams to me to only work if you have an omniscient viewpoint like a gamer, how would your ships onboard map system know this stuff.

Of course the facts that missions aren’t generated until you open a mission board won’t help.

Given the fact that you routinely have to load cargo or passengers with a mission, I thought it went without saying that this would occur when docked at a given station, and display missions generated at that station.

Or am I misunderstanding your confusion? This all data already generated at and contained in the mission board. There's nothing "omniscient" about data presented in a more useful format. :)

I read it as you wanted to see mission data from any system along your route not merely an indicator on the map where all the missions in the station you were docked at went, rather than seeing them one at a time when in that mission on the board.

Nicer filters like:
  • show all missions to <star system>
  • show all cargo missions with <commodity>
  • illegal / legal
  • starports / surface settlements
  • etc.
