Best not fail it then =)I allready posted it a few days ago but now i have found another great wing mission. Why would you ever accept such a mission? You only need to loose 1 unit to get a fine of 330.000.000 credits.... thats really nice balancing. :screwed:
Wow, always read the fine print. I just avoid those wing transport 5000x missions because none of my friends have massive cargo ships.
Does anyone know if a friend loses some of it, will everyone get the fine? I could think of some serious griefing potential inviting CMDRs and giving them a huge fine if so.

Well the moral of that story is, careful who you trust.
I would agree that mission appears to be "broken", or at least not worth the risk/reward for some people. However, it is a simple wing cargo hauling mission and those are so easy that you should get fined 10X the amount if you fail it.
Also, is it possible that the fine is related to the value of the cargo?

Yes and before the revamp the reward was based on the cargo value too. Now it has been just nerfed to death, at least it looks like this.
The possible fine is 10 times higher than the possible earning?! Whoa!
As mentioned the cargo value of 5956 units of palladium (average buy 40,700 Cr) is over 240 M Cr.
I think you could reasonably get 280 M for this cargo by selling it on a suitable black market.
A fine of 331 M Cr seems proportional. (although not sure if that actually divides between wing members?)
36 M Cr reward PER wing member.

It's an Elite ranked mission.
If a wing of Elites can't manage that mission then they're not very Elite, and they deserve the fine they get for falsely representing themselves.
Can't you part complete these anyway?

Yes, partial complete for up to half the cargo is a thing.
You'll get fined for any missing cargo though.... partial complete is only available once all the cargo is exhausted at the source station, afaik.
@OP: Remember, this is also a wing mission. Grand total payout split between for commanders is in excess of 140m. Wing delivery missions have their reward pre-quartered for this very reason.
Thing is, this is totally fine. I'd actually argue the fine needs to sit in escrow while you complete the mission... the main thing broken with missions is actually that they reward primarily on the value of the cargo, not the quantity. With that in mind though, go get one for 6000t of biowaste. The fine (and reward) will be greatly reduced.
More risk, more reward. That's the name of the game right now.

You don't have to pay the fine. Just steal it and run away saying muwahahahahahahahaha!
AFAIK, each member gets the fine, but I could be wrong there, it's been a while, so you'd be looking at a total of 640m in fines, split across 4 players. WRT stealing the cargo though... you can only steal one load each. Somewhat stupidly, you can't offload mission cargo via any other means that handing in to missions unless you abandon the mission. Then, whatever you hold is marked as stolen. It's a bit naff like that.
I haven't tested, but you might be able to jettison it to someone not involved though?
If its anything like Salvage missions, you cannot remove the Mission and then Stolen tags anymore.
FCs cant clean it either.
I tried offloading to a friend and that didn't work. Dropping it for him. Also making the mission create multiple copies of its self and getting him to collect the items. None of it worked.
Nor does dropping it, finishing mission and collecting it. Both jettison and abandon.
Ive tried many things recently to get a leagal form of some salvage via illicit ways, havent found a way that works "now" even though I know and have been told they used to work.
