Horizons Missions

Can someone who played in the beta give me some tips on where to find actual combat missions? Been looking for hours and everything is locked behind elite or requires you to land on a tiny outpost.

I've never had this much trouble finding a mission before. Deadly rating, halfway to elite, trying to make the final push to rear admiral and suddenly there are no missions.

I believe the rate at which missions refresh has been reduced, and there are also a lot more mission types available, which makes the chances of getting a mission of a desired template lower. All in all, it's harder now to get the missions you want, you have to settle with what the board has to offer.

I get that, and I definitely agree that the spawn rate needed some toning back, but now there's almost nothing available. I have no idea how FD expects a person to make any sort of reasonable pace at ranking. I might go back to just farming Rez sites and combat bonds for the feds, but I get the feeling it's MUCH slower than doing missions, but even with the slider there's no way to tell since that's broken as well. I haven't seen a single "Kill X" mission be available yet, that and the assassinations all apparently require me to land at a tiny outpost. I'm picking it up from a big station, and it's delivered at a big station, but the "Go and find this guy, kill him" is locked because I'm in a large ship.

Used to be able to do multiple missions at once with my ASP and make some good credits. Now.............forget it. I thought Horizons was about planetary interaction, not a nerf to the rest of the game. My mistake. Is there any way to re-install the previous version and write off Horizons ?

There are some new types of combat missions as well.

If you see a delivery mission marked "In Safe Hands", for example, that is a combat mission. You WILL be attacked. Sometimes multiple times. And the enemies often have pretty decent bounties, too.

Hi, i experienced the same. I started to rank up my imperial status and earning money by doing charity missions and long distance trade missons in my ASP Explorer. But since Horizons there are no charity missions any more and the long distance trade missions requier a lot more cargo space than before. And on top the target destinations is an small outpost in most cases. So i can´t use my trading anaconda because ist can´t land there. And doing a 170 ly travel for one mission within an ASP for 400.000 Credits is a little pointless.

just my 20 cents....

I have no trouble finding missions at all.

Everywhere I've been going there are at least 4-5 space missions, 2-4 surface missions, and a long list of unavailable (due to standing, cargo space on ship, rating within combat/explore/trade and so on).

But then again, I'm not overly picky about which missions I take. Sometimes it's just message missions, or some small scale cargo transport, while I would prefer a combat mission. Fine, I'll rather fly to a new location and see what happens along the way than play a game of "camp the bulletin board".

I agree 100%. I've found the same thing. Now we can do one or two cheap missions at once lol. ........gezzz.........Everytime there's something good in this game it get's the hammer. Haul more items for less money.........YaY !!! for those of us who "used" to like doing missions, good luck now. If they would cut the price of the ships in half, maybe it would make sense, but..........pfft. With the authoritative nature of developers, that's not going to happen. Let's all go out spend our time making 4k hr. on the Surface lol. That's going over real well also.
