Mode switching for missions and Smeaton Orbital [200mill/hour]

"The total number of minds in the universe is one."

Presumably schizophrenic though right?

But seriously - Why does it matter to so many people what other people earn. "cant we all get along'.

I just want whatever the heck Fdev come up with to be consistent. Ideally FAIR but hey even consistently unfair is consistently predictable.

I don't really care if one player wants to grind they mind to dust earning 100 billion credits? I am not under the allusion makes them a GREAT player or even a good pilot.

Ohh the grieving - well yes of course they get a big ship go out and grief people but hey, they were ALWAYS going to do that anyway! Maybe if we (the community) stopped worrying about the Hyacinth Buckets next door and just player 'our own personal narrative' 'our own way', we could worry less about D D Dumbhick and their latest 'credit exploit' and get Fdev to focus more resources on fixing the C&P / ramming / seal clubbing issues.

Dunno maybe its just me and my naivety - cant we all play nice?

While I've noticed examples of such limited postulation, it might be worth considering another cognitive dissonance inspiring paradox of ancient spiritual philosophy related to the traditional greetings "Namaste" or, "In la kesh" wherein one individual recognises and honours the uniquely divine connection to themselves in another being.

In short, and more recently summarised by Austrian Nobel Prize winning physicist, Erwin Schrödinger when observing: "The total number of minds in the universe is one."

Have you read any Dana Zohar? The Quantum Consciousness and The Quantum Society are good reads, backed up by Applied Theoretical Physics.

Also, David Bohm, is hilarious. He literally explains the concept of "**** happens" at the quantum level. If you haven't already, read this one first.

If you don't like it, read this one anyway:

And for anyone who thinks all this is off thread...press buy now. Or just hit the right frequencies :)

A cursory glance suggests Deepak Chopra-ish quantum horsepucky.
Is that actually science or navel gazing?

Well if you want to talk science, you'll have to define "quantum horsepucky".

lol

This stuff touches on a great many recognizable patterns. Where on the line between Postulation and Quantifiable a particular aspect lands, depends on what horse you're riding when you swing the pucky-bat.

Haha, well, I'm still waiting for them to isolate consciousness and thoughts in a lab, until then I'll just note this bit of honesty:

#238 in Books > Textbooks > Humanities > Philosophy > Metaphysics

Of course stuff like that can make for helpful metaphors and I haven't read the material...

Uh, books? But, I'd have to learn to read :(

[Edit: FYI - Top link broken]

[Edit, edit: Ooh, ooh! Did anyone notice if the COVAS can be tricked into reading things for you? Now that would be really handy on long trips in the black!]

Briefly meandering back towards the OP...

As long as we're getting access to a live query table interface for the mission database so we can generate our own missions in real time based on how we'd like to 'play our own way' instead of subjecting ourselves the intense monotony of mode switching...

Is the database clever enough to check the market for commodities we can back load to fulfill local missions requesting particular goods? In other words, will we be able to fill our vessel to its optimal capacity and pre-allocate rewarding haulage for the return trip?

B-Double, Ford Transit, Reliant Robin or skateboard... If it's going there anyway, FILL IT!

Edit: If you must come back empty, drive it like you stole it! :D
