Module Storage

You don't yet know which blueprint will work best, and there are five blueprints. So you buy 25 of them - after all, you don't want to find out later that you need more and then have to wait another month.

Or you roll a bunch of powerplants with different power/heat ratios. You want to keep the best ones for the future - maybe four of them. Multiply that by 3 different PP sizes and that's another dozen right there.

etc etc

Ah, the joys of Min-Max'ing to within 0.001% !!! Just imagine...if another Player had a module which performed 0.1% better than yours...ouch ! The Trauma...

Sandro recently stated on a livestream that they won't increase it for gameplay reasons. I'm not sure whether he's aware that we currently use ships for storage so it would largely be a QoL thing.

Gameplay reasons just makes no sense to me, 60 is just too low. No matter how much is available, people will always want more sure but, adding more and more ships to the game, it makes sense to also increase module storage levels.

Just imagine if they released another ship and a tech broker where you can get many more modules, this on top of the ship they released a couple of months ago and ax modules.

100s of ships?

If true, that strikes me as a bit odd and definitely an outlier. I can not see any logical reason why anyone playing this game would need to own that many ships. Storage or otherwise, you've got issues. ;)

I can tell you why #engineering. Because sometimes you dont know if the RNG is good or bad or an effect worth saving, and also modules for roles for ships. Maybe a light weight build etc for piracy, specific modules - they also have different core component sizes.. weapons with myriads of effects.

I would welcome more module storage so I dont have to keep buying dropships/cobras to put things in.

Would also greatly welcome some sort of folder arrangement system for them, ones you could name would be even better so you dont have to scroll through 59/60 items to find that one thing.

Its a wish though would be lovely but not going to be holding feet to fire over it.

EDIT: I forgot to mention ax-weaponry compounded this matter for me :<

So they are introducing all these "tech broker" goodies and we are already at max storage plus x amount of Anacondas lying around as storage. Yeah, that's not going to end well. When you manage a fleet of ships 60 is nowhere near enough.

Can we please at least get a storage limit of 120 modules, just double what we have?

..and no there won't be another post in 6 months asking for double the storage again, unless the galaxy gets twice the number of galactic powers in powerplay.

How many people who are saying the current limit is fine either don't engineer anything or don't use powerplay modules, or both?

No harm in increasing module storage, they can always add a price for it, say 1 to 5 million per module and cap it to 100ish.
many of us with 11 digit in cr get another sink.

An increase would be useful. Now I just buy ships and use them as storage for most small/medium weapons and modules. Fairly cheap ships like Cobra Mk3s, Type 6s and Vultures can be used to store quite a lot.

I'm also for an increase in module storage, since we are already using ships for it, it would just be a QoL change.

Regarding mats/data I was fine with the 1000/500 limits lol.

OMG, does he not realise there's players out there that have literally 100s of ships just for storage?! :p

I'm currently on about 50/60, I'm gonna have to buy a t10 soon, just for storage purposes.

Yup - I could open a used Anaconda sales lot.

IMO a limit to module storage only pigeonholes people into limiting the amount of ships they own or fly.

Not everyone believes in the "one ship, one style" game play option. Some like to fly many different ships in many different locations... which should also be allowed.

There's really no "good" reason to limit module storage, as it's not carried with you wherever you go- the modules are still located at the places you purchase them, and to transfer them it requires paying for transfer as well as a timer.

Why are you storing so many modules instead of using them on ships?

For example i have some modules with very good engineering rolls but they are not in use .

When i go Thargoid hunting in new ship i buy much more equipment just in case my build is not working and i have make changes . Running around few hundreds LY back and forth is painfull , and my taxi can't take all modules on board , so add time to fly there, buy , fly back , transfer modules and we have hours of gameplay lost .

60 is simply not enough . Just add option to buy more storage space for CR , as people ssaid , they spend milions just to have storage ships , so give more storage space that cost idk , 1 mil per slot could be enough , after lets say 20 slots make it 2 mil per slot etc

I've been guilty of a little pack-ratting myself from time to time, then I sit and I look at what I have stored away and I ask myself the same question:

"If this module is so good that I want to keep it, why isn't on a ship?"

If I can't answer that, I sell it. It's good for the budget, it's good for the storage space, and it's good for me.
