Move extra windows in the SRV

When you look left right or down in the SRV those windows should be moved so you need to turn your head more before they come up.

I have auto-popup switched off. While i like the functionality, they are pretty annoying, especially when piloting craft with open cockpits like the Asp, or when in a dogfight, when you have to follow enemies with your head very fast.

I've turned them off too and mapped them to my HOTAS. I've used a button on the joystick as a 'shift' key, then use a hat switch for each of the four displays - works really well!

I used to have the displays pop-up before I had the Rift and was using TrackIR instead, but quickly moved to the button method of activation after the Rift arrived. It took a little while to get used to, but I find it much more useful now.

I have posted a complete solution at the end of the thread below:

There is however a slight problem when using a rotary dial to switch the windows on and off.

I have a Saitek x55 and use the red button on the throttle to confirm selections in all menus (like clicking the mouse button).
I have my throttle set to 'forward only' instead of 'full range' and I use that same red button on the throttle to switch between forward and reverse both in the ship and in the srv.

When the dial is in the 'windows off position' the forward/backwards shuffle button does not seem to work.

I like the function and in the ship i have no problem with it except maybe the down looking panel. Simple want to be able to move them so you have to turn your head more. Like they have a function were you can set if you need to turn your head 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 75 degree. The window should popup were it is now, only change so we can set how fare we have to turn before it popsup

I don't quite understand why so many are pressing shift/other modifier and then pressing a hat to bring up the panels. Or pressing a button so the panel doesn't show up when they look that way. It just sort of seems counter-intuitive to me. (I understand everyone is different etc) :)

I have a hat on my Warthog stick for the panels on/off. Left for left panel on/off. Right for right panel on/off. Easy. Up cycles the panels left/right/comms/role. Down actually cycles my weapon groups.
No modifiers, no popping up when I don't want it to.

I can pop the left panel up when I'm looking right clearing a station, then actually look left and the panel is waiting. Look away momentarily to avoid an incoming Sidey? No worries. Make a selection and close the panel.

Hey there. On my X52Pro I used the hat for power management settings, but if I held the pinkie trigger (shift) and moved the hat it would select the corresponding panel. It just gives you more options to use with the same buttons.
I now have an X56 and still assigning buttons.
