My expedition to California Nebula

Thanks for the video. It's a shame that even in Freelancer 12 years ago the nebulas were prettier and scarier than this. Very disappointing.

While you may have liked the nebulae in Freelancer more that doesn't make them in any way accurate!

You mean that we shouldnt see colored clouds obscuring visibility? I honestly dont know.

Actually its impossible for us human beings to see nebulas at all. The colored images we see are visualizations of the nebulas' electromagentic fields, captured by special lenses with different filters applied. The wavelength of those waves are invisible to our eyes.

Nevertheless, those processed nebula images are really nice to look at, and it can be made plausible to see them within the game if the official statement were that the ships windows automatically apply certain filters so we can actually see them.

But a visualization like in freelancer is far away from realistic. Its beautiful, but not logical. Nebulars are no "cloudy entities" as we imagine them to be. But IMO it doesnt always need to be scientifically correct. Those are games for our dreams and imaginations, to feed our urge of exploration and seeing things we usually cannot in the current state of technology. Some "fantasy" can be allowed, as far as I am concerned. Just like the FSD which is purely fictional or even entirely impossible like shown in ED, which has even been said by FD themselves.

Just my 2 cents tho.

inspirational!

I lovedf the build up but am gutted for you for being screwed over on the literally jackpot find of a habitable planet.

If any developer reads this, this is a perfect example of where Exploration has failed. this explorer should've gotten at least 2-5 million just for that planet find.

60k for days flying around to find it. That's a slap in the face, there is no incentive to stick your flag in anything. He could've gotten that in an hour finding black boxes in adjacent systems.
