First Impression from 10 min.
I stayed away from watching alpha stuff. No spoilers, fresh eyes.
Followed advice, waited 2 days after launch.
Not happy.
1) FPS and Graphic Settings
Whatever, guess I'm not gonna use my 5yo Alienware travel laptop for this game anymore. Horizons worked great at High settings. Odyssey at Low settings and 15fps sucks. Internet connection seems fine. Can't the software recommend functional settings based on autodetecting my hardware? Sure, I can fiddle-fert a bit more. Or wait until I get home and use my home computer. Frustrated.
2) Keybindings
No defaults? Can't it ask me if I want default settings from my SRV or standard keyboard/mouse settings? Nothing. Just dump me on a planet with no settings.
Maybe I missed something. Not a big deal, I'm a big boy. I can enter keybindings. Annoyed
Edit: Now I see I could have selected default keyboard/mouse settings. Didn't notice when I had 8fps. A couple quick prompts when starting the game would have been nice.
So I am frustrated and annoyed in my first 10 min of my experience. Ya I know 10 min is'nt giving it a good try. I'll try again tomorrow when I get home. sigh.
