Greetings Cmdrs,
I have just got back to my home world after my first ever trip. I fell into exploring on a whim really, after getting frustrated with forever grinding materials and mission running, I even abandoned my power play on week 2 , I was so hacked off.
I didn't have a destination, I toyed with the idea of doing a long range passenger mission but decided I want the freedom to choose when, were and for how long I was out. I left Maia on the 7th of April heading down about 200ly off the galactic plain and just headed down towards the Perseus arm, stopping off at the Crab Nebula to sell my first ever full weeks data . I had covered about 8k ly in my first week. In fact I have stayed within about 10k ly from sol the whole trip.
I discovered 975 systems with approximately 700 firsts, countless water worlds, ammonia worlds, lava worlds, 3 ELW's I scoured pristine rings, rocky bodies, went mountaineering in my Srv, found 2 undiscovered neutrons which I loved and one white dwarf which had already been tagged.
I collected enough materials for about 50 G5 rolls, and dropped in on a planet that showed as only having 0.5% polonium and yet came away with 6 chunks in only 4 targets. Found ship wrecks strewn with cargo canisters, shame I had no cargo racks installed. Nav beacons, a crashed Srv , all interesting changes to the routine.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, the time just flew. On my last day ( yesterday) I was in a very sparse region of space at the back of the Barnards Loop nebula, I was down to doing one jump at a time the stars were so thinly scattered. I was lucky my Dbx has a 49.7ly jump range, but I needed a few 100% fsd boosts to get me on my way.
The credits I got for selling the data I consider a bonus, and I made pioneer so hopefully my next trip will put me on Elite.
My next project is to get myself an explorer conda, and engineer it up...I'm not looking to go extreme on it. as I want to take two Srv 's and a slf, but i should be able to get it up to near what my Dbx can do. Then I'll go visit some distant worlds.
I hated the last 23 jumps back to Cubeo, every system had been tagged but at the same time it was a relief to be able to put my foot down for a change.
Thanks for reading and hope to see some of you guys out there real soon.
Fly safe and keep her cool. o7
