My issues with the update.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way so allow me to get into it. First there is nothing new to do. Yes I get to have a face, yes I get to fly for an hour to stare at a really big ship and yes,I know about the new outposts that don't do anything. I'm talking about fun stuff. It's a game. I want to have fun playing it not dreading the grind I have to face to get that cool ship I want. Multi crew is cool but we'll be doing the same thing we've been doing since the initial release except this time I get to be in someone else's ship. My point is that most of the updates that are released expand upon existing mechanics, which is fine but we're already bored of it.I've spent my fair share fighting in CZs, bounty hunting, exploring, and trading. I want to do something else. And if not that then give me something to work for. I have a conda so I'm pretty much done with the game. It's built like an mmorpg that has few things to do. You could add really expensive and nice looking houses, or a crafting system, or even pirate base assaults, just something to make the fans a bit more fun please.

Frontier you have my full support and all I'm saying is I'm tired if looking at my favorite game and saying I wish there was more to do.

Expand on existing things? No, they only add different ways of doing the exact same thing. They have not expanded on Mining, Trading, smuggling, bounty hunting, or EXPLORATION....

All of the tasks are boring and repetitive with no interesting events. Even Creep Farming... cough..... I mean Bounty hunting is not interesting or even believable. I mean how many pirates are there? They are never ending!!!
All of these key decisions that were made back in the day as place holders are place holders FOREVER!! And they just keep adding really bad, half baked, game features like Engineers, Powerplay, Multi-Crew, CQC.

The only thing that is good are the mystery stuff they add. Whoever is in charge of those things should be advanced to the position of leadership that decides what game play gets created.

What they need to do is actually expand and revisit late game features like Powerplay. Make these factions more interesting. Have them speak to you with an actual voice. Make the player actually care about the factions and want to help them. This gives them a purpose. Expand on Powerplay, expand on Exploration. Those 2 things are late game features that are so badly done that no one wants to do them.

+1, good post. But it needs bullet points for more impact!

[Yes, not sure FD started with the idea of "late game" features, but they need to be thinking about what players do post learning the basics and leveling up their ships.]
.
Make these factions more interesting.
[Agreed, give them more "life" and leaders and also have them feed strongly into Power Play. A minor faction that controls 5 star systems is growing into a Power... you can see where I'm heading with that I hope.]
.
Have them speak to you with an actual voice.
[Not really new content, but yeah, Text To Speech with more dialogue would be nice. Nicer still would be actual interaction dialogue selection with NPC's, like a menu of responses to pirates before they open fire...]
.

[Agreed, see above.]
.
Expand on Powerplay
[Prepare for Powers in bubbles outside the original one. What is the late game with Colonia? Someone will have to rule it. Also, along with above about merging PP into the BGS, yes, the PP Powers could have missions that show up on all mission boards, etc. and maybe some mechanisms to trigger more overt conflicts, but not sure I would expand PP so much as try to merge it down and the BGS up and develop how that affects human space a bit.],
.
expand on Exploration.
[Almost everyone has been asking for that for ages]<snip>

FD listen. I think we will see things like this in Season 3 as it wasn't until late season 1 that these ideas started strongly hitting the forums and by then the tech R&D and planning for Season 2 was already in full swing. Season 3, however, FD should have had time to take all this feedback into consideration. I hope so anyway. And I am having trouble thinking of what shiny new feature they would add that is not related in some way to what we already have at this point with the sole exception of new tools for player groups. I'm not opposed to that as player groups are easy to avoid and having stronger ways for them to work together could even appeal to private groups like Mobius, even though many Mobius and other players might think they have nothing to gain from such.

Agreed, there needs to be better end game content than simply "get the biggest ship." Another way to get some player driven in game content would be to implement a way for groups of players to create their groups with IN GAME support, not having to use a 3rd party website to set up a squadron/guild/clan would be welcome. Make GalNet a bigger part of the game: when you first log in for the day it opens GalNet News with daily updates/events, etc.

I have been around since first day of the game release and before that I was closely watching everything and reading everything about it. The game seemed to have much more promise back then. Fast forward years later, the game has had barely any noticeable progress. Most of the big features that get released end up dead on arrival. You could argue that they are not dead features but they are dead to me and many others. Starting with Powerplay, RNGineers, Holo-Me, CQC.

All that time and effort wasted! my god
