My plans to leave the bubble...

My hope is that there will be plenty of planets just beyond the bubble that will have points of interest that will satisfy my curiousity. I just want to find a nice place with a great view and I'm gonna live out the rest of my days exploring it. Gonna move all my ships there and just chill. No more planet hopping unless I need supplies or for the occasional space race/wing-up (hopefully my planet will have a great supply base on it or something). Now...if only they would let me have my own landing pads and warehouses, I'd be set (farfetched?). :)

A little. For now.

But I'm like where you are going with that.

Maybe one day.... We can all have a little station to call our own.

And a dog with a lobsters head with the wings of a eagle, that talks.

The closest you can do right now is have a small system to call your own near the edge of the bubble. For me, that place is Cao Gong, way down in the southern empire and hardly every visited by anyone else. There are only a few outposts to pass if you head out into the big gap and across to the Perseus Arm, where I like to explore.

I would be thrilled and delighted to have my own base, or to even be able to customize a hanger inside an existing one. having something in ED that is like that hanger module in SC would be very cool. As for personal bases farther outer... that might have to wait for S2 or S3 or later, or never. But nothing like that is coming soon, it would seem.

What I would like, is a large ship that can carry a small ship, a SRV and a habitat module.
You could then land, deploy the habitat module to have a portable base. Then take as long as you like to explore and mine the planet in the small ship or the SRV ...
The large ship would probably go into orbit and wait for you to call it back, and the small ship (sidewinder size) would also be able to carry the SRV.
