My prediction for the other staff types

So we've got people specialising in science, that sabotage when they're upset... it certainly sounds familiar.

My prediction for the other staff members are Security officers and Entertainers, being typical of theme parks and for no other reason of course.

They've both kind of got reputations for being ineffectual in games, so it'll be interesting to see if/how they tackle it.

Meh... would rather have groundskeepers/janitors. Anyone whose ever been to a theme park knows they can get messy, so it would be strange if our Jurassic World's were once again perfectly clean at all times... plus, if things like signs and lights and stuff got destroyed by vandalism/weather/dino rampages/our terrible driving skills, I'd figure groundskeepers would be the ones to replace them.

That's understandable.

In terms of path having to be cleaned, I can see that potentially being an issue for the old PS4s (a change in path texture like JPOG might be the best that could be done, maybe 2D objects that always face you). But fixing damage or refurbishing weathered stuff seems doable.

I almost have a feeling that Scientists will be the only type of staff.
Yeah, quite possible, we know they've an unusual amount of uses, from making dinos to making building upgrades (I suspect they're vets as well).

Any staff member would probably be an equivalent to them anyway, a specific tasker on specific buildings, so not really much to write home about.

I just thought it's kind of ironic that the divisions are no more, yet we're basically going to create a lesser version of one.

At the launch of the game it seems that way. However, it is possible that there are more types of personnel with post-launch support that give the game. We just have to remember what JWE was like at the beginning and how it ended up being.

In any case, let us observe a minute of silence on the contracts and on the three divisions.

Yea, that's my impression so far, but it would be cool to add in other types like Game Wardens and Event Coordinators. Sure, you'd have more scientists and they can fill in anywhere, but the Game Wardens and Event Coordinators are fewer and more specialized to their areas of expertise.

Yup, I agree it could be interesting to have more types of staff. But from the looks.. I don't think we have anything except Scientists. I'm not speculating on future content, we don't even have a release date yet! 😅

ETA: RiP divisions.. I'm actually slightly disappointed of that, and wonder if that means there won't be side-mission stories in the campaign now...

It seems strange to me too. How will we unlock dinosaurs and building upgrades if not with contracts? All these doubts will be cleared when we get the first gameplay of the game.

You also have to speculate a bit with future content. At the very least we'll have some great DLC when JW Dominion premieres. The dinosaurs in the movie will come for free and I'll bet my money that there will be a paid DLC campaign on the movie just like there was with the Sanctuary DLC.

I'd lean towards missions still being a thing in some form, so that'd be at least one aside from the star/map progression.

In their livestream yesterday, at 46:38-47:00 of the video below, when Jens asked if there are any other staff members to manage, and the answer is all the staff members you have to manage are scientists (at least at launch). They said the scientists are already a "handful" to deal with, and anything else would be "pretty stressful". The other worker types you don't need to worry about.

But, right after the Q&A, they did say that, like Cabot Finch, the characters Dr. Dua, Isaac, and Lambert will be returning, but not the divisions (Science, Entertainment, and Security respectively) they represented in the previous game. To what capacity for the said trio though is still unknown.

It is an interesting point. Contracts are still a thing in challenge mode apparently (mentioned by EvoSquare here Source: https://youtu.be/U0qMBK0RkLc?t=306), so I'd think that means divisions are still thing in challenge mode too, unless they're more just to make cash. (Looking at Jens' history, he hasn't mentioned divisions or contracts at all on the forums, which is sort of impressive).

they already confirmed only scientists are the staff
Yes, the prediction certainly didn't age very well, it's good to have a quick answer though. It's a pretty generic class, so I guess it really shouldn't be too surprising.

Usually I wouldn't comment on the theories youtubers put into videos, but in Evolution square's video of the July livestream she said that contracts are not in jwe2, so just speculating again. Both yes and no to contracts/divisions are still just speculation/theory at this point. I believe that something very similar to contracts will return but it looks like we may not even have the divisions themselves or at least not the same way, they only confirmed the leaders returning as characters again. Having to be so vague must be killing these devs I swear, it's certainly just confusing the rest of us :ROFLMAO:

Not looking forward to micromanaging scientists, kind of glad they did turn out to be the only staff type atm. lmao.

We'll have more to reveal about that later ;)

We call them Scientists, but the field of science is vast and multifaceted, so they do all sorts of things, as mentioned during the livestream.

Almost every type of worker:
