My PvP setup for Anaconda - share yours

Easy, you just point them at the target and press fire. PvP isnt about destroying the ship, its about dropping the shields. And a bad Conda pilot would let someone stay on his ass.

.

lol, I'd laugh the balls out of my pants in my 1 million eagle! :D

You won't even see what color ship I'm flying. Sure, the eagle won't dent that amount of shield, but it'll sure be fun watching you trying to even take a peek at me.

Boost FAoff turn, and youre right there on the tip of my nose. Dead 2 seconds later if you chase after me.

Btw, I just ran into trouble for the second time in this setup. Was at a nav beacon, shooting stuff. Another CMDR in a Conda starts shooting me, I drop his shields easily and he combat logs. Came back a moment later, tried to shoot me again and lost his shields. Combat logs again. Came back yet again moment later, this time with invulnerable shields. Needless to say got reported.

Since what update does an anaconda outrun an eagle?

I'll stay on your ass indefinately. 4 pips to engines. No problem to tail you, even if you boost.

I never said anything about outrunning. FAoff turn when boosted means you'll have to fly REALLY fast to get back behind my ass. Eagle doesnt fly that fast.

with the eagle superior speed and using lateral thrusters, staying within 300 meters from you, you would not stand a chance of ever seeing me.
The only dangerous time is the approach, but once within the 300meter mark, you're useless.
I think every skilled eagle pilot will confirm this.

Lets try it out once.
but first to fly 37000LY before I get back from the core.

*edit*
But, you're right, as soon as we would get distance, I'd be space dust against that firepower.
I'd love to see a 5 wing eagle squadron, taking on your Conda.
5 milion against 500 milion :D

Apparently you have no idea what a player piloted Conda is capable of. You should try PvP.

Don't have the 450mil credits yet to build but wouldn't mind giving it a whirl

Could it be grimballed pulse laser instead of fixed?

I think its a power management issue. Gimballed use more power and as it is you need to turn most of the shield cell banks off until it's time to use them

This I would like to see and experience first hand then, to tail a player conda with an eagle.

So if you're challeging me, I'd gladly accept this doomed challenge

Eh, Utility build is utility.

Decent Conda pilots don't dogfight, they back up. This negates any and all advantages the other ship has outside of shield strength.
Can even do it with other ships to greater effect, as long as you remain the more durable of the two.

I'm all for it.

and like Khan just posted, most of the time you're (the conda) going to fly backwards.

In before someone in a pimped-out Vulture with fixed beams sits on his exhaust and terminates him...

But seriously, when flying a kitted out Python it's the very maneuverable ships that will bleed those shields dry while sitting in your blind spot. A wing of Vultures can do that pretty quick.

When flown right, no ship has any blind spots, and since every ship is limited to engaging one at a time, size quickly becomes irrelevant.

You forget, large ships cannot dog fight, so no one does so.

Wrong. My turrets can attack another ship while I have a completely different one targetted and am attacking. You know, when my turrets decide to actually fire. (fyi: fire at will mode)

btw, Me and I'm sure my buddy in his FDL are willing to test your pvp conda out in a sparring match till shields drop.

Lemme know when turrets are actually useful and ships besides the Anaconda have slots with them in mind. (San Clipper)
As for the duel, tomorrow is good. Send me a PM with his in game name and I'll add him, then break the flight model and explain how at his convenience.

You can do that to NPCs. Not to any decent players. A pimped out Vulture with fixed beams, lol. I could go and make a cup of coffee, come back, enjoy a sip, and then kill him. That's how much shields my build has. The only thing that threathens a Conda in 1v1 is another Conda, especially now that Python got nerfed.

I find them useful in keeping fire on a target while maneuvering in situations where you have already loaded out your forward weapons. Basically as a way to allow simultaneous use of all available hardpoints without having to switch firegroups or only using a subset at a time. But i guess we'll see.

my in-game name is the same as mine on here. I'll give my buddy a shout regarding this (i'm sure he'll be game) when I see him online next.

Here's what I'm running, it's not pure PVP build it's multirole, and fairly defensive - I'm not looking for kill in this. And I still can't afford a A8 Plant.

The Pulse Turrets are up top, just remember to fix them forward against double chaff users.

It's pretty effective 1v1, it'll force most players to withdraw, espeically if you can land those two big plasma balls. l haven't faced any wings in it yet but it should allow enough duribilty to at least escape.

Also if Frag Cannons didn't engage until 1000m instead of the 2000m currently (wasting the limiited ammo supply). I'd swap the Multis to Frags, Frag turrets are devestating to small ships trying to stay in close.
