The Orca - I could have flow my mission to Explorers Rest in the Krait Phantom with a first class cabin and a 65.91ly jump range. But I did it in the Orca with only 55ly, although it could have been a bit better if I had put light weight thrusters on the ship and a smaller power plant. Some people use an Orca as there exploration ship. That means giving up about 7ly jump range over a DBX/ASPX/Phantom, flying a ship that heats up more easily fuel scooping and charging the FSD, and because exploring is mostly in supercruise, you rarely get to enjoy the best thing about the Orca.
It's considerable speed and refined luxury feel using thrusters.
I like it for that and have the credits to spare to keep the Bronze Mermaid for fairly short range passenger missions in the Colonia region. So I gave her a fitting paint job while at Explorers Rest near Sagittarius A*.
For the new commander trying to build their fortunes, ships like the Dolphin and Orca are too expensive and take too long to make back their buy in cost. There is always a cheaper ship that can be more profitable despite not being able to use luxury cabins. When you have the credits spare to play at being a luxury cruise liner captain, these ships are a delight. I don't get the Beluga though. The best fuel scoop you can put in a Beluga takes 3 minutes 33 seconds to fill it's enormous fuel tank and you can get more passenger cabins in the glorious Anaconda. The Orca is more than enough to get the cruise ship captain game play experience.
