If there was anything to find, Canonn would have been tipped off ages ago and found it by now.

It's like in DW 1 at the moment... Three months of "FD might or might not have placed something enroute" - in the end it was Ed Lewis and his Beagle Point Livestream.
However as a pawn in the organiser team it definitely feels that they are much more involved this time. I still hope that there might be something special waiting for us on the far side of the galaxy.
