NA Animal Wishlist

A lot of people here are convinced that a NA pack is coming (either standard or animal). I'm about 75% convinced it will, while the other 25% is expecting the unexpected.

Assuming we really get a NA pack, this thread will serve a similar role as the Essential Animals meta-wishlists by @random goat, @Spiderhawk, and myself, but focused solely on NA animals (that way, Frontier can figure out which are more popular and even get ideas for obscure species).

RULES:
  1. ONLY HABITAT ANIMALS WILL COUNT, NO SMALL EXHIBIT SPECIES OR FULL-AVIARY SPECIES OR FULL-AQUATICS
  2. UP TO 20 PER PLAYER
  3. MUST HAVE BEEN SUCCESFULLY KEPT IN AT LEAST 2 ZOOS (BECAUSE IF IT'S A 1-TIME THING IT WOULDN'T BE REALISTIC)
  4. GO WILD. THE CRAZIER THE BETTER
  5. ONLY NORTH AMERICAN ANIMALS, WHICH INCLUDES CENTRAL AMERICA

So, I will divide my list by animals I've personally seen in thw wild, and them the rest will be some I like

Animals I've seen
  1. Coyote
  2. Wild boar
  3. White tailed deer
  4. American beaver
  5. Raccoon
  6. Bobcat
  7. Greater roadrunner - they prefer the ground, so I think these can easily be added without an aviary system
  8. Striped skunk

Animals I'd like
  1. Puma
  2. American alligator
  3. American black bear
  4. Collared peccary
  5. Moose
  6. Gray fox - my favorite
  7. Red fox
  8. Red wolf
  9. North American ringtail (aka, ringtail cat)
  10. Whitenosed coatimundi
  11. North American river otter
  12. North American porcupine

I don't have quite 20 but this is what I'd like to see. the ones with * are my priorities

The 3 I'm absolutely expecting:

Moose*
Cougar*
California Sea Lion*

The ones I think have a somewhat decent chance:

Wolverine*
American Beaver
Arctic Fox
American Black Bear*
North American River Otter* (I'd prefer the Asian otter, but would take the NA one as a second otter instead just fine)
American Alligator
Alligator Snapping Turtle - I would prefer exhibit but I can see them going full habitat as well.

others that I think have a less chance but I'd like to see:

Coyote*
Rocky Mountain Goat
Big Horned Sheep
North American Porcupine
White Noised CoatiMundi - though I think of this more of South America, they are in the southwest US.

edit: I forgot the Prairie Dog - that's 16. I think that sets me.

Big NA enthusiast here, would love to see some more representation

I'd expect most of the first five:
1. Cougar
2. Moose
3. American Alligator
4. California Sea Lion
5. Coyote

Followed by more niche picks that I would love to see:
6. Ocelot
7. Sea Otter
8. Black-footed ferret
9. Bighorn sheep
10. Wolverine
11. Nine-banded armadillo
12. Whooping crane
13. Walrus
14. Bobcat
15. Elk
16. Black-tailed prairie dog
17. North American beaver
18. American black bear
19. White tailed deer
20. Raccoon

There are a lot of other great options like coatis, musk-ox, and alligator snapping turtles, but those could be placed in another SA pack, Arctic pack, or semi-aquatic pack/exhibit animal slot respectively.

There aren't twenty North American animals that I think we desperately need, to be honest. If we have to pick 20 though;
  1. North American cougar (specifically Puma concolor couguar).
  2. American alligator.
  3. Collared peccary.
  4. Nine-banded armadillo.
  5. Bighorn sheep.
  6. California sea lion.
  7. Atlantic puffin.
  8. Southern sea otter.
  9. Greater roadrunner.
  10. Wolverine.
  11. Moose.
  12. Muskox.
  13. American black bear.
  14. American beaver.
  15. Sandhill crane.
  16. Ocelot.
  17. Mexican spider monkey.
  18. Coyote.
  19. White-tailed deer.
  20. American flamingo.

Honestly, if NA pack is seriosuly next dlc then animals were already chosen long ago. It's just speculation now and too late to throw ideas.

Possibly, yes. But, maybe they can quickly (if it's reasonable, of course) change 1 option to something on the list that's similar(just am assumption).


Either way, it's a fun thing to do while we wait for the next update and DLC, which we hopefully will get mid-late september

I imagine NA is the next pack (and I suspect it will either be or possibly the December pack at lastest), you're right, that the animals are already chosen. But it's never too late to throw out other ideas for later packs.

I want to note that the wild boar is not native to NA, but inroduced, so I won't include it.

Also, I think 20 animals is way too much for a NA only wishlist. Anyway here's my list:

I am seeing less then 20 animals and no black-footed-ferret.

Wild Boar probably aren't the best choice since uh... they aren't native and they're incredibly destructive to the habitats they've been introduced to

True, but the impact they've done is crazy. They've really changed the ecosystem, and it's a reminder that human selfishness (such as bringing animals just to hunt them for fun) is a horrible and how it can affect, not only is, but the environment
