Love this name, and hope it gets used somewhere.

However after scanning this thread is appears that Obsidian is the name of choice.

Obsidian Reach - As others have suggested, there are already a lot of 'Orbitals' and I think reach has a nicer shorter ring to it.

PS any chance we will get to see this thing in it's construction stage?

I do like the idea of something other than 'Orbital'

C'mon guys, we get to name a station and the majority of you have just jammed "Orbital" on the end of something. Lets be a bit more creative!

While I think it's cool to want to honour the players who suggested this I would prefer something Pleiades themed, humorous, or to name it in honour of a scientist, astronomer, etc

I like these suggestions:

• Witt's End
• Seven Sister's Sanctum
• [Karl] Schwarzschild['s] Gate (I would lose the Karl and add 's TBH)

And of course my own: Bacchus's Cradle

Well considering who asked for this CG I'm thinking that "Obsidian Station/Orbital/etc" would be a pretty cool name.

Matariki Rise

Wikipedia says:

In the Māori language Matariki is both the name of the Pleiades star cluster and also of the season of its first rising[1] in late May or early June—taken as the beginning of the new year.

I think that would be a fitting name as the starport marks the beginning of a new era.

Hmhm... thinking about that, Jonathan Archer comes to my mind, the first Captain of the Enterprise. Just thinking about the timeline... As the real "first" Captain will ever be James Tiberius Kirk from the original series... At least for me...

Obsidian Orbital?

Of the suggestions so far, I liked:

Kerydian Orbital (or Kerydian's View?)
Tanhauser Gate.

The only suggestion I've come up with is:

Hatter's View (you have to be mad as one to go out there).

However I'm not totally sure we have a perfect suggestion yet - somehow it needs to be a name that encompasses the beauty and the remote loneliness of the location.
