Need help, Trying to understand how to contribute to EDSM.

Hello explorers. After getting my feet wet for some months, i want to start contributing to EDSM, butu im at a loss on how to do so.
Can some one give me a some direction or to the thread that speaks to this specificaly. I want to be able to track my journeys.

Download the EDDiscovery tool, install it on your computer, go to www.EDSM.net, open a free account, copy the API key, paste it in the commander settings, and you're done.

I use EDDiscovery, which uploads logs automatically.

Sorry for necro but I have a question.
Is it possible to fund EDSM, say on Patreon or the like, and get rid of all the adverts that appear on screen when using it?

Well, EDSM even opens a popup window that says "Support me on Patreon!"

It used to, but I couldn't get it to do that any more, perhaps due to the way my password manager logs me in.

Remembering it is what made me think to ask the question!
