Great list! Couldn’t agree more with a lot of the smaller species on here, like the felines, tamandua, and porcupine. Unless I missed something, there was only a single other vote for the prehensile tailed porcupine as of when I checked the other day and I was gobsmacked to find that out. Wish I’d included it in my own list.

@random goat will the list restart after the DLC?
Good question. I personally would like it to stay the way it is now, because of the probably slightly limited lifespan of the game now. If we start anew everytime, of course things change a lot. I'd rather have move any high requested animal move up a slot when requested animals from the list are added.

I remember the asian small clawed otter for example being much higher on the list before the aquatic pack, then people shifted towards african animals or whatever. The list is quite conditional on trends. I'm pretty sure after a NA pack no one requests NA animals anymore, even though some highly wanted aren't added yet.

But thats actually what would make a new list interesting, especally from a statistic point of view. You know the thing of demand and availabilty? Its basicly that, but with out prioritys for the animals. + we could allways still look at the old meta lists, its not like they get deleted or anything. The only question is, if our all favourite goat has the time and will to do another one after the dlc, so we could see how the opinions and priorities have changed

I mean, if the leak is true, we have a year and a half of support left. But I agree we may be nearing the end of support, so it might be wise to keep it as is.

I'm afraid it won't.
I don't think the list would change much after just 3 months, we would just see similar picks but without NA animals. Also the more people participating in the same list, the more valuable the data should be. We can still grasp some more new lists here.
A meta-list with 150 participants is more valuable than 2 meta-lists with 145 participants each, because most participants would overlap anyway and the trend regarding animal preferences would not change enough to make it worthy.

It's also a lot of work to start a new one from scratch. I currently don't have time for it. I'm looking at starting a new version on Xmas, after the presumable Xmas DLC. A 6-months gap sounds more reasonable to me.

I think a good point to start a new list could be after Christmas DLC if aviaries really come true. Because it allows new options of animals. But of course, I can understand that this is a lot of time you invest and if you cannot do it anymore from the beginning it is okay, too. By the way, thank you for your engagement in doing this meta lists 👍😊

Although, if we do get an aviary pack I suspect it will be the only aviary snimals we'll ever get.

We got an aquatic animal after the aquatic dlc and might (possibly very soon!) get more so I don’t see why that shouldn’t also apply to birds.
Yep. I also think that what becks meant is that if a birds DLC ends up being a thing, birds wouldn't be restricted in this meta-list anymore -> allowing for a lot of potential changes if a new meta-list is made.

I've asked not to add flying birds to your lists for now because they were not part of the game. But if they are added, I'll most likely lift that restriction.

Regarding support: I guess the year and a half is given and we can not count on dlcs after that, but if sales are good, I still don't think they will be impossible.
