New Major Mountain: Smojai IT-P D6-2 A 2 A

[CMDR Exorcist]

I came across this while scanning an outlying system in the Smojai Sector: an incredible mountain that reaches up around 30 km at its peak! It caught my attention because it stuck out above the blue planetary scan grid. I've destroyed two SRV's base jumping off of this thing! What a ride! I call it "Mount Wesley". [cool]

Updated 27 December 3304: My personal discovery log for this find.

Updated 30 May 3305: Original measurements were incorrect. Updated thread to reflect new measured height (30km). Also, the site has been submitted to EDSM as a POI for the Galactic Mapping Project. Fingers crossed! Here’s the blog entry with details.

As far as I can tell, it is bigger than Neverest.

It's about 1,500 ly from the edge of the bubble. I've submitted it on the Tourist Beacon thread, but I'm not sure if FD is using that anymore.

I wish I could. I've tried to replicate it, but it seems that once the grid shifted to correct for the error, it doesn't stick out anymore.

Mount Neverest was the tallest as far as I know. I believe this mountain is much taller than it.
