I think the problem is the name. If it had been FdL mk2, we would all have had the right expectations of it.

Also, a ship that is good at multiple roles would attract players such as myself to acquire multiple ships, each with its own outfitting. Which means a paint job for each ship.
Multiple Anacondas = multiple paint jobs.
Only one ship? I can make do with the default paint job.

Very true.
I have come to the point that I buy one Cutter for every paintjob I have, rather than the other way round.
If I like a pj, I buy it, and then get the Cutter for it, knowing that it will have its purpose.
I don't know what to do with a Pmk2, so I haven't bought it, yet.
I am tempted to use it as a passenger runner, just to own one, but I am already happy with a Vulture in that role.

I would imagine something along these lines might be popular with the more combat oriented ships and combat oriented players.

A loooong time ago, pirates had some funky paintjobs that we couldn't buy. One of those was the classic shark bite across the back of a...I wanna say it was a Cobra 3. They have since become more boring and I have never seen it again. I wish I had screencapped it.Hi

I can remember them being fun but very MS Paint close up. My fav was a wiggly line one.
Personally I'm hoping for a Sheer Line for the Type 9 (and Type 8 eventually).
Still better than Overdrive.
You have nothing to lose by contacting customer support (or maybe create a ticket, I'm not sure which) and asking them if they can help you. The worst they can say is no.

Yeah, the price rises ended my enthusiasm for spending cash on cosmetics. Why so steep?
Theory: FDEV marketdroids set price points for the new ships - 33k Stellar, 16k vanilla - and then adjusted existing prices to "normalise" the 17k difference for a ship kit and one non-shiny PJ, or so..
The role of the already existing cosmetics has anyhow shifted to supporting early access and prebuilt ships. This must have gone into the thinking that gave us the (IMO ridiculous) restructure and removed many cheaper options altogether. I guess the idea is to prioritise ship sales even at the loss of some income from pure cosmetics revenue, by making ship prices in line (even a good deal) compared to other store items.
Though I'm happy to spend actual money to supplement in-game Arx for new ships, Stellar versions even, I absolutely won't buy any pure cosmetics at the new prices, including, regrettably, the nice looking time-limited Ruby PJs. I spent quite a decent amount purely on cosmetics before the regime change (admittedly mostly during the last sale where prices were about 25% of where they are now I guess.)
I really hope we see a re-think. Maybe after New Ship 4?

Hmm... those paintjobs arrived at least one week ago in the store.
Imho they're looking quite good depending on the flash colours of course... But those flash lines seem to be more like an overlay on top because nameplates, etc. are covered by them... Not my cup of tea...
