So, apparently OP was banned ? I don't want to discuss the reason why (if that's true), but simply to confirm if anyone know if it's true ? That's what I heard, and I can't ping him, or send private messages to him.

There's a lot of those gems out there yeah!
Those planets don't have those swirly patterns at all and show how awesome the tech can put them together.
Those with the patterns often look great as well. It's just the stamp-thing that's so frustrating.
Most importantly: the destruction of the game actually didn't happen.

Isn't it well known that the brain picks up on patterns almost unconsciously (and that's me, a non brain specialist who even knows that).
Yea, shame after 150 pages in the New Era of transparency and communications Fdev have only said, there's some stuff that needs looking at - the new era is starting to feel a lot like the old era already, after like a week...We should all stay calm and assume the duplicates are a glitch and they are actually supposed to be randomly garbled... or something.

Yes. Natural adaptation. Regular and repetitive pattern are unusual in nature, and means predator or prey. That's why the best camo breaks the shapes (zebra, tiger for example).
You might not see the pattern, but you will know it's repetitive. Like a feeling.
That's how I felt with odyssey planet upon release. I felt they "look the same" even though they don't. Eventually I noted the crater as a copy-paste feature, but then I saw this thread, and started to notice the repetitive pattern to.
I hate that <redacted> crater! Three updates in and they haven't deleted the damn bitmap (or whatever it is) or tuned it into only appearing once in every half billion planets. That, more than the repeating tiles, is destroying my urge to explore out there - it's so obviously a stamp...
Sadly, it's part of the map. I don't think they can remove it without doing a planet creation phase. Again. And they don't want to do that.

If you (not you specifically, @MishaTX ) want to help FDev, you would organise the community to validate issues on the Issue page and add your vote and your actual gameplay recordings and screenshots.
Whipping up a social media storm and throwing hyperbole around actually causes people to stop listening, or didn't you do behavioral studies? God knows every other person is more of an expert in Business Management, Graphics and Lighting paths, Procedural Generation, Mathematics, Exo-Geography than anyone in FDev, if the last page is to be believed.
For crying out loud. We're just coming out of a pandemic, normal is still on the horizon, companies have gone bust... and yet this company, that according to you all, don't know how to manage a product or company, are still running and have managed to release a promised DLC. (Which needs some refining!)
I think you all should just get together, start a kickstarter, and do it better!

You FORCE your brain to look for something else. Your brain obey and focus on something else, ignoring the issue.
I don't do anything, I just watch what I have. And the repetitiveness is then very visible. To see the specific pattern, beside the very obvious crater, I need to force myself, but not to have the "repetitive" feeling.

That's the thing, most of the functions our brains perform evolved from pattern recognition. It's the most fundamental underpinning of all our sensory processing, so you don't even notice you are doing it, it's just always switched on, letting you kow if something feels right, or if it feels off.

For you. We all see the world differently, ask a colorblind what he sees. Pattern recognition is natural. In essence, you are in the "colorblind" category. I'm not saying it's bad, unless you are hunted by a predator, or need to hunt, it's perfectly OK.
Currently, not mentioning the performances issues I have, the planet generation is too bad FOR ME to play. I assume I'm not the only one, because I saw others complaining to.
So, all you have to do, is understand that, and respect those like us.
