New PMF's have been stopped since patch 14

Funny part is my group's PMF has a name such that most don't realise it's a pmf, since i thought about making it congruent with the universe.

There's a PMF named "Imperial Wargrannys" that I first encountered about 3 years ago. They're still on the boards. Saw them again only 2 days back. They really bother me, because the spelling should be "Wargrannies". You know what else grinds my gears? When people write things like "There are lots of player made faction's".

Faction's? I think you mean "factions". Because 's is a contraction that implies ownership. It is not a form of pluralization.

I see it so often now that I can't help but feel like the Goons have been proven right again. The internet does make you stupid.

Inara (somehow) knows which factions are player-made. Is it not possible to tell them apart in game? I've never noticed.

There is no in-game way to tell them apart other than guessing from the name, and the journal data doesn't flag it.

Inara and EDDB basically just guess - but it's possible to guess with very high accuracy if you've been able to do it as you go along, because almost every new faction that gets added is either a PMF or obviously connected to some Frontier plot event. You can also use the "new faction" form to discover which systems have no PMFs, though it won't tell you which is the PMF in a system which has one or more.

I suspect the console PMFs are on zombie mode. So yeah there's a few that are dead.

Hidden opponents, especially those that undermine your BGS, are a pain to deal with. They cannot be identified, they cannot be reasoned with, and they will not stop.

Until they find better things to do.

This is one of the things that i have the most fun with. If i see some conflict between an unsympathic PMF (mostly superpower alligned) and some other NPC or PMF faction (independent or anarchy) i always support the underdog. Roflstomp some arrogant PMF (ganking their BGS) is the best.

Something else to worry about: "player made" is a compound adjective, so should be written "player-made".

You can set the faction to player on inara. Not sure about EDDB but I would imagine you can on that too
