My fellow Commanders.

I want to put a second GPU in my system to run crossfire, however I will need to upgrade my PSU.

Can you recommend any that are reliable but don't cost the earth! Im looking to upgrade to a 750W one.

I currently have a 500W PSU - FSP 80+ BRONZE - 85% Efficiency.

Thank you.

Corsair PSU

Hi I went for a Corsair AX760. they aren't the cheapest but check out amazon ebay etc. The quality makes them worth it.
If you want go for their cheaper 750 ones still very good and should do the biz.

I bought a new PSU, for the same reasons.

Corsair Builder Series Modular CX750M - 750 Watt 80 PLUS® Bronze Power Supply for 68.99

Try to get the Modular ones if possible, that way it less mess with the redundant/spare cables :)

p.s I'm using a Corsair CS750M 750W Semi-Modular 80+ GOLD and it great :)

Now, do I really need Crossfire? Im running one 24inch HD 1080 monitor. All I want to do is run elite and some other games at max settings smoothly. Beta one I got 60 fps consistently, I currently have an VTX3D AMD R9 270X 2GB GPU and it seems to be doing the job.

Is it worth spending the money on another GPU to run in crossfire.

I'm going to upgrade the PSU anyway for future GPUs down the road.

Many thanks.

If I may make a suggestion.

You have a set up that works.

New gear is expensive. You know that, pretty soon, some new innovation will come along.

Stick with what works. Save your cash and wait for the next big thing.

Personally, I'm eager to see what the consumer version of Occulous Rift will be like. But that's just me.
