New ship: Gutamaya Corsair

The ship takes many inspirations from the Courier and it's bent banana form, but makes it more pointy and bulky. It's definitely the biggest departure from a manufacturer design language that we've seen so far in the new ships.
Feels like Gutamaya just went for "Let's try a less greebly design with a few sharper lines here and there". It still looks unmistakenly Gutamaya, but an updated design—like Lamborghini's Miura vs. Temerario.

Exactly the type of ship I would expect old Edmund would design.

Edmund was sniffing onionhead while watching Pinocchio.

"AI generated" is fast becoming a byword for bland, mediocre, deservedly. I don't think anyone with an eye for design could say that of the original FDev version, whatever they might think of it!

Controversial definitely. Bland or mediocre? Nah.

Yes, Yes! That looks much more Gutamaya. The butt half of the Corsair is "OK", but that big, ridiculous, fugly schnoz has got to go. It's the only reason I won't be buying one. It's a shame because, like everyone else, I was waiting for a mid size Imp ship. I just cannot stand ugly vehicles and vessels. 🤷‍♂️

I like the Schnoz. It reminds me of my Prowler in SC.
Then again I felt the same about the Lakon 8. I like the back half, but the front...

What would be nice is to get a Clipper 2 with the 'very obvious' intention of the huge (C4) mount on the top of it realized. It needs a 'reason' to be a large ship. Clearly that was the original path for the first incarnate. They just put a blank plate there, to fill it in.
The Clipper holds less than even a medium class ship, like the Python and lacks the fire power of the larger ships and has the worse convergence of any ship in the game. So, why is it a large ship again? And what purpose does it have? Originally it had at least the smuggler role, but then the Krait II came out and took that over. So now it's just a piece of unused asset, by all except NPC pirates that don't want to shoot straight.

Way back the Clipper used to be a better hauler than the T7. That changed when the T7 got it's capacity buff. When the Mamba was released, it lost it's job as a fast frag cannon ship. Ever since the only thing it had still going for it was fun to fly. Mine will be donated to a museum, complete with the "I helped kill 7 Titans" (missed the first one). It sure wasn't the best meta ship for that job, but it still is fast and the build worked with a low emissions plant, so it runs cool as well.

Yeah if it had one more mount it would be a decent interceptor killer. You could use the poor converging hard points with the classic Guardian shards. Then carry at least one gauss, one thermal vent beam and a remote flak
