New ship: Gutamaya Corsair

Looking at some of the pictures, I am wondering if the shape of the nose is something that would be offset somewhat by installing a chunky set of cheeks in the rear.

Looks nice, but I don't have a need. I would prefer something lower speed than t9 with 1300 to 1400t of cargo space. Oh the panther clipper springs to mind, would be very useful filling and emptying carrier to build a station or outpost.

Shame new ships aren't in line with recent update, another medium ship not sure why we need another

This is very nice indeed! It would be utterly cool if the developers can take in this type of feedback without feeling taken aback. I wondered about the preview as well, it is an idea but its proportions don't really go along with the Imperial standard of elegance. We didn't get any hint at its intended role yet but only guessed from the name that it might be leaning towards piracy and adjacent use cases (cf. "Corsair" in real history). Just looking at it strikes me more as maybe intended for multiple purposes causing some compromises which made it come out a bit weird. E.g. your design doesn't allow for a bottom window, but theirs might have room down there for all we know. But we have a fine selection of exploration vessels now and it seems superfluous to me if such a motivation would cause this awkwardness. I like your design much better. Maybe if the white collar you have there right under the canopy was also transparent for expanding the field of view to the lower sides and front. Otherwise it looks perfect.

Agreed that the lines of the Corsair would make it the ideal candidate for a first ship without a canopy, and the whole Appl.... err... Gutamaya fashion sensibility makes them the plausible people to give you a 360 "holodeck" virtual cockpit view of the surrounding space, not wholly unlike the gunner telepresence link -- basically first person rather than third, with the pilot suspended in an armoured bubble somewhere protected, deep within the bowels of the ship.

Can't stop thinking the design feels kind of like a meld between Gutamaya, with the outriggers, and a hypothetical older Saud Kruger, who made steam era passenger liners, before they got around to contemporary ones... :p
