New Ships When?

My hunch with my captures is that I take it for granted that we will have new ships, having everything full, I can buy them and engineer them the first day.

I would think balancing and giving defined roles to the ships we already have should have a higher priority, but I've been around long enough to know we are going to get more ships in Odyssey regardless of how redundant they make the rest of the lineup.

The Panther is the last remaining the ship of the old lineup that hasn't been released yet

I hate to be blunt but really?
...You're asking for more when you haven't explored even a fraction of what you HAVE.
I want more variety. Been playing since alpha, engineered the crap out of everything.
I have diff ships for diff roles, but I stick to those ships as they are ones that perform the best for me and are the most fun to fly.
Only ships I've not got are the Clipper and Cutter, but I don't care for either.
I'd like to see more weapon load out customization, so a similar ship to a vulture but with a diff weapon loadout for example.

Noooo, there are loads more.
I'd like to see all previous Elite ships in ED, I miss my Harrier.

I bet 99% of all those wanting a Panther Clipper have never flown It actually. And believe me, you wouldn't like It.
Imagine the slowest top speed, the sluggiest handling, and the crappiest jump range in the game.

Instead, I think that the game would benefit with a new generation of deadly small ships, with enough pool of health and good damage output.

As for the classic ships, besides those small fighters, I guess most people would appreciate the Tiger Trader, a freighter with true combat capabilities.

Um are we ever gonna get some new ships? Like ever again?
Would really like something new to fly.

Recently I was checking how often there are new ships released. Turned out, it was almost every year, sometimes twice per year.
But the latest ships addition was in 2018, then long pause and the recent FC release (though it's not about ships, actually).

So my guess is we'll definitely get some new ships with the Odyssey release next year (I hope).

As for interiors...we do not need to design what's behind the panels to the T. It's all fantasy anyhow.
I can pick out so many engineering flaws to make it all irrelevant? All we need is it corridors and a few rooms. And the only time you can be out of your chair while ship is in motion is super cruise.

You know how people will complain should FD do that right?

Yes, I want exactly that. The first ship with an actual reason to use turrets, because it could never hit anything with gimbals, let alone fixed.

It's always fun when threads collide in the listings:

One : More ships - because more = better
Other: Why do we have so many ships - most suck!

THREAD FIGHT! :ROFLMAO:
And I agree with both
There are too few ships available and from all the ships we have some which perform one or another role better than others, which renders others (non-best-for-a-role) pretty useless.
I'd wish Fdevs can share a stats on hom much hours are played in a month per each ship (sum from all the players).

I'd wish we have much more variety, different lineages of the ships, something similar to Eve. where smaller ship does not mean worse, rather a different but still useful role, and at the same time each role can be filled by multiple ships, with different pros and cons
