New Thargoid variant

That? Not a lot going on in there unless you are a new player. Unless something was announced at the announcement get together they had over the weekend.
The Thargoid Interceptor being discussed in this thread wasn't pre-announced as part of the April release either, and didn't even get a mention in the changelog. (Neither did a couple of subtle features used in the Interstellar Initiatives)

It's an opportunity for them to quietly add more content and assets. Whether those appear immediately on September 18th or only actually get used two weeks before the December patch is done, of course, we won't know until it happens.

Sorry to burst your bubbles, but this is clearly just the Cyclops MK 4, only available to Thargoids that preordered their ammoniak-world until end of June 3305. In contrast to other MK 4's it has a higher speed but they forgot the weapons, and it does not come with a thargon swarm built in right off the Thargoid Installation. Thargoids use it mostly to collect human tissue from the old Pailin Installation. Due to popular demand they had to change the name, since some 'goids didn't like numbers in their ship names.

I know, I know, exclusivity is bad, but you all* had the chance to buy into the preorder, and decided not to. Without those pre-financing the invasion with meta-alloys the fleet would still be stuck on the witchspace shadow of the black hole in Maia.

*only applies for thargoids.

This is why we will never have peace as there will always be someone who wants to kill something they don't understand.

The pewpew brigade "apparently" started this as there was supposed to be a option for the war to go either way.
Off-topic...

Not directed at this comment, but frankly, if there was an alternate way, there was never any evidence it existed in the game. Of course, FD could be trying to pull some spec-ops style "Putting down the controller is an ending" (warning: spoilers for Spec Ops: The Line in that link)... especially in the context of the whole Salome/"The Club" thing, where "everything you do supports The Club".

In that regard, maybe the "peaceful" route was to not support AEGIS during it's CG's to make weapons. But if that were also the case, I'd call FD utterly naive for thinking that players would choose not to play the game presented to them by the developer. But I give FD more credit than that.

Personally, I highly doubt there was ever a "peaceful" option

We could have let Palin die, Chloe was supposed to take his place, now she's just a duplicate. And we can now pin multiple blueprints of their style.

Its gone now guys. I was there last night and it spawned every time i jumped in but tonight it didnt appear even once and i tried at least 5 or 6 times. :(

Oh I don't want to prove you wrong
I really want this to be something beyond a new Interceptor too.

I just don't to get my hopes up if it is a bug.
As you say there is more than just the subsystems anyway so hopefully even if it is just a bug or artifact of it being a similar scenario to the original Hyperdictions there are the other points you raise.

I see a Falcoun DeLacey Canopy in that screenshot.

Oh great, ANOTHER DeLacey ship
