Ships Newly Purchased Asp Scout

Hello Fellow CMDR's I have just purchased the Asp Scout as an engineers runner \ bubble hopper (this is the first time I've dabbled with the engineers). This is the load out I have gone with:

Any tips or suggestions on how to better this load out would be greatly appreciated as my ED career thus far has been 90% exploration not combat or mining or any of the other things one needs to do for the engineers.

Thanks and fly safe CMDR's o7

Hi there Cap'n,

A couple of questions.

Why the turrets in the mediums? With the agility of this boat you won't have a problem keeping your target in your sights.
Also why so many different weapons?

I would swap you Fuel scoop and shields around and fit a class 4 shield. the class 3 fuel scoop is fine.

This is my 'general duties' build. It's been fine for me running around the bubble etc also see me win a low altitude (<2km) with an elite cobra III and ASP-E so it can fight as well :)

Thanks for the tips and link CMDR. To be honest I think I may have gotten the fuel scoop and shields backwards when creating the build for this post. As for the weapons I have never really done combat and wanted to test out some different guns:D. I will try your load out (with some tweaks) and see how well I do.

Thanks again o7

Good man, test and enjoy. That said, Madrax is right. The Asp scout may have its faults, but it turns on a dime. It's a ship made to take advantage of fixed weapons. It's a fat target and not the fastest though so, frankly, quite a nice ship to learn to hit with fixed weapons and practice combat in. Learn the high wake for when you are overwhelmed or outmatched.
Have fun, and don't forget to record and post vids from time to time.

It can be a tricky one in combat but once you get the hang of it you can reduce your profile a fair bit by keeping head on or side on to your target so they have to work a bit to hit you.

Also contrary to what I've read I've actually found Chaff to be blooming useful against NPC's in bigger ships. Have fun with the ASP-S. It's an often unloved boat but definitely has stuff going for it.

Yep. Asp Scout must have chaff.

Thanks for the tips, I'll throw some fixed weapons on and give em a try. Also add a chaff launcher. I really like the turning on this ship although its going to take some getting used to it. Thanks again, it is much appreciated CMDR's.
