What's your idea other than copy pasting the Farragut?

It was a Jaws reference, originally "You're going to need a bigger boat.""The battle cruiser is capable of transporting and operating whole groups of Federal Corvettes...." mailslot? Stations park on it.
Perhaps a medium-sized Saud Kruger luxury passenger ship (obviously supporting luxury passenger cabins). I'm thinking this because it's the one role that has yet to be touched by the new ships, and there's currently no medium-sized Saud Kruger ship. What is the best thought through Guess what the last 2 ships of 2025 will be?
TBH I was going for the "In soviet russia..." meme.It was a Jaws reference, originally "You're going to need a bigger boat."![]()
A meme-collision! But both have their place and are valid.TBH I was going for the "In soviet russia..." meme.

I realize that Farragut Class has become quite the buzz word and despite some people even producing images of the ship, this question remains unanswered: why?Imho, FDev needs to open up a new class of ships that fall dimensionally between the large ships and a fleet carrier. Maybe start with a ship that has a couple of landing pads (one L and one M or a M and S ?? ), that flies like a large ship but obviously much less maneuverable.
A Farragut Class ship (size wise - assuming its 1600m - 2000m L ) would be the largest ship a player could pilot as a big lumbering Large ship. The largest ED Large ship is ~210m L, 130m W, 40m H; a FC is ~3200m L, 700m W.
A ship smaller than a Farragut, around 1000m L, 400m W could fit a couple of pads, easily. ... turrets only and have a few SLF slots for defense. A 1000m to 1600m L ship would be the starting point.
You can land a M-Class X4 ship on a Destroyer Class, why not do the same with ED. out of the box it would be understood but ... dream big
Because it's the natural commander career progression from Fleet Carrier. Once Fleet Carriers were introduced, there's no compelling reason for players to NOT have access to Capital Class ships. I think you need to answer "why not" because the reasons for this are pretty self evident.I realize that Farragut Class has become quite the buzz word and despite some people even producing images of the ship, this question remains unanswered: why?
I want this ship, 'because it is bigger than all the existing ships', is not a compelling reason for its creation.
They want something that arrives and departs like an FC but is slightly vulnerable to attack so can be made to retreat.I realize that Farragut Class has become quite the buzz word and despite some people even producing images of the ship, this question remains unanswered: why?

It wouldn't get throught he mailslot and that's a very important factor in player-flown ships. Bigger than that, its a FC and they fly with different mechanics.

I can imagine an XL class that lands on external pads only - like at a FC or a construction pad. Getting through the mailslot though, not going to happen. Putting external pads on a rotating station is going to be a recipe for disaster though. Some stations (Coriolis etc) could have external docks
Probably been asked before but just for giggles.
As I read in a different thread Frontier seems to have stated to shift from medium ships and we know that we are getting the Panther in summer and have already received the corsair question is.
What is the best thought through Guess what the last 2 ships of 2025 will be?
Oh on a side note
As an imperial(lol) I like the Corsair but:
a. Please but some imperial seats in it and do something to differentiate the cockpit from that of the courier.
b. stop calling it a successor to the clipper as the clipper takes effort and rank to acquire and the corsair does not

Mind you, for planetary landings, they need to look at that a bit more. Right now there's no reason any planet shouldn't have a L landing pad - its not like there's anything for a thousand kilometres so there's space for them. But then stop super huge ships from landing on thicker atmospheres, the thicker the atmosphere the smaller the craft needed to land.
