I bought NMS last night and played a few hours. NMS gets better with every update and EDO as an update to ED looks more like vandalism than an update.
Graphically, there is just no comparison NMS runs at 4k, 60 fps, great AA (dlss), a consistent artistic vision (rather than looking like different peices of it were designed by different bargain basement subcontractors) and is rock solid stable. ED otoh, has terrible to no real AA, drops to single digit framerates regularly and is plagued by connection errors and crashes.
Playing NMS was really refreshing, reminded me why i liked pc gaming, it was fun. EDO on the other hand is a mess. With every NMS update it gets better and better, with every ED update it seems to get farther away from its original vision and has more bugs and is less and less playable.
Im sad for what ED has become, but grateful that EDO was awful enough that it forced me to look farther afield and to try games that are not only technically better, but more fun.
So if you are disgusted as i am with FD and what they have done to ED, maybe broaden your horizons (no pun intended) and have a little fun
