No ARX for CQC - bug or feature?

I will tell ya' what will happen. CQC will be cancelled and arenas will be used in racing activities. No Arx for CQC and in the same time whole bunch of new racing paint jobs. Coincidence? ;)

Possibly. I would welcome racing mechanics with open hands, but I would honestly hate for CQC to go.
 
If CQC goes then I definitely will go with it.
I'm already done with bug infested joke of a game that Elite Dangerous is.
CQC is the only things that I still enjoy to play.
 
I don't think CQC is going anywhere, but also doubt it will get any kind of update. Then again, the way updates are going in this game, that's probably a good thing.
 
I'd bet the decision was made because they know trading wins in CQC is a thing that can happen. Had ARX been earnable during CQC matches, then you wouldn't be just trading wins, you'd be trading actual money.

They didn't want to have to figure out how to prevent people from trading wins, or spend the resources to police it.

Hmm, not convinced. Since you can earn ARX in PvP it seems more like they just didn't bother.
 
It wouldnt be like Fdev to forget CQC.
My first reaction was - I forgot about cqc, that was a really clever idea from the OP. Fdev being thorough, problem has a timetable to implement it or it’s a bug. By design? They intentionally chose not to buff up cqc (again) :) Which is fine as I keep forgetting about it :)

But if I was a cqc player I would be furious.

I've been working at that permit for over four years and at this rate, I have another ten years to go.

Unfortunately, I can only tolerate so much deathmatch, where my success or failure is dictated by what power up I spawn next to or my knack for avoiding battle until prospective opponents are already engaged. Also, no one seems to play any of the other modes any more (haven't even been able to get into a CFT match since the 1.4 Beta).

Now "ganker-PvPers" can blame FDevs. No Arx for CQC fights? Let's go to Deciat for hunting some noobs ;)

Ability to abuse CQC aside, I don't think the rate of ARX gain by doing such things would have been high enough to be a deciding factor here.

That said, I think all gameplay should stand on it's own merits and needing to incentivize something with points, or permits, is not going make for the best player demographics.

I'd be able to enjoy CQC a lot more and play more of it, if it was properly divorced from the main game, rather than being another element of grind for the main game.

Most of the Arx gain in the main game isn't that related to how successful you are at it, and you can trade Freewinder kills for Arx now if you want to (there are more efficient ways to get Arx)

One point per match completed whether or not you win wouldn't be particularly exploitable, and would take a ridiculous number of matches to hit the weekly cap.

Arx isn't actual money, and there's already a safety net in place with the 400/week cap. And players could exploit it just as much in the main game killing each other in free Sidewinders.
