No canopy integrity fix in May minor update patch notes?

They've clarified that there was no integrity hobble. Previously the canopy would break at 50% integrity, now it breaks at 0% integrity. Halving the integrity value results in the canopy being able to survive the same amount of damage as before. Any apparent increase in the frequency of canopy destruction was likely due to people paying greater attention to their canopies, or some other cognitive bias.

I still think many ships could use an increase to canopy integrity, but there is no need for a fix to reverse a hobble that never really was.

so the T10 has a stronger canopy than every other ship.....25 instead of 15?

Except the SLFs, apparently, which have 30. I'm sure the GU-97, which doesn't even hold people anymore (they removed life support from the modules list), is making good use of twice as much canopy as hull integrity.

Those figures may or may not be intended, but the 15 we see on most ships apparently is and should be functionally identical to what we had before.

Ah right - thanks. Not sure why they didn’t put this in the original, and updated, patch notes and saved us all a lot of speculation and venting.

if that's the case I want a ship made entirely of SLF canopies.

Well I've been out of the game for a little while and finally got about an hour or so last night.

Went out and got into a few fights in my Cobra and conda's. NO WAY are canopies taking the same amount of damage as they used to!
I would often have a full session of combat in any of my ships and maybe if I lapsed a fair bit I'd have canopy issues but it was few and far between. Now every single fight was a challenge to have an intact canopy.... Often the bloody thing would be taken out and only a couple points of hull had been taken down. And I regularly double MRP my ships for that specific reason. Still got shot out so fast!

I went out and did pvp last night, deliberately against another squadron member who uses gimballed multicannons and ALWAYS takes out my canopy if I let the fight go on long enough. He won, and my canopy was still intact (which would have been unusual before, let alone after a supposed nerf), so I have to agree, there has been no change for the Krait or the Chieftain.

They should have taken this opportunity to buff all canopies to ACTUALLY 30 across the board, but nooooo.

The official response post was here:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...y-integrity-halved.510083/page-5#post-7763454

"The canopy used to break when it was at 50% integrity, however, we have fixed this so it correctly breaks at 0% integrity bringing it in line with all the other modules. Therefore, to maintain the canopys current functionality, we halved its integrity. This means that the canopy should be reacting in the same way as before the April Update."

Another comprehension failure thread. As stated and restated, this isn’t going to be “fixed”, it isn’t broken. Your canopy is just as strong as it was before, just now it’s displayed correctly.
I always wonder why people expect FDEV to read their threads when they aren't able to read FDEVs replies...

This site helps a lot:

Some scientific styled post. This should be standard.

Well given how my usual ship fits have been performing (Armoured and MRP'd canopy etc) I most certainly won't be flying any of the asps or alliance ships.... I would often defend these ships as I'd fit them to take into account their glass jaw canopies...

From my experience it is definitely NOT performing as before.
