No more Anaconda in RES ? Nerfed ?

Take care, because mining is more dangerous at the pirate-infested high intensity sites.

After Powerplay launches, mining will become a more viable route to riches, espcially with two new minerals – painite and osmium – and more minerals per extraction site. But we think mining should be a game of risk and reward, so you'll find high and low intensity extraction sites in human-occupied space, but with pirates swarming the high intensity areas you'll face greater danger... and greater rewards.

Yes, they surely meant to make players look for a system that is 1 in a 1000 and never said that simply high intensity RES would be like a high intensity conflict zone, so more ships, more difficult to deal with. What I imagined was that simply I'd find wings similar to ones previously found in SSSs, fe Conda, Vultures plus some cobras. I always ran away from those, I was curious if I can deal with them with some police/bounty hunters help.

Oh, and all the remarks on the Powers you picked etc - I play outside of powers' influence. So you mean I should be forced to go into the main systems, and all the systems outside of Powers' influence should be more or less unplayable? Would be a strange dev decision.

Evidently somebody has spent so much time bounty hunting he kind-of passed over the fact that this WAS an expansion, albeit a free one, complete with new game mechanics, new entire styles of play, new types of events, new objectives, and no less than three new ships (which were supposed to be two, but some of us made the mistake of giving them negative feedback about the Scout and getting one of our quota of 30 ships spent on a variant of it...)

If you choose to do nothing but hunt bounties in res, then that's all you'll find to do, no matter what they release.

I absolutely love the Imperial Courier. My 'Conda is in mothballs for a long, long time.

Offtopic ship pedantry, but the DBS and the DBE are completely different ship models, not a statswap on a single game model. They didn't knock together an entirely new model in a under week because of beta grousing, but man I wish they could. If they were that fast we'd already have over a hundred different ships.

To put it simple, if that is true and intended by FD, that is silly.

You point at factors that were never mentioned in the update announcements what you say is hardly logical based on game mechanics and as you admitted getting to know all this required "testing" from you and even though you seem to be really devoted to it, you still haven't got most of these things clear.

Now, how would a regular player find out about all this?

The whole RES thing is probably bugged or the changes were not explained to the gamers well enough.

I agree the previous system was in many ways flawed, but if a new one was to be introduced, I'd expect the devs to tell us simply what was going to change. Instead, the high intensity RES was announced as be dangerous place etc. Not a location where you can find 2 police condas, 3 adders, 1 mining asp and 1 cobra with 30K bounty (if you're lucky)

So nice effort but for me - something's probably wrong.

well i think i am a pretty regular player, but maybe i should take that as a compliment, so thanks :)

i have been here for awhile and learned that FD likes to give us breadcrumbs and rarely likes to show us the full picture, they have been acting this way since back in beta and i think its one of their major traits.

when i first noticed that something was off whit the RES sites in the early 1.3 beta i took that in mind and started to look for the trail, and i found the breadcrumbs in the PP documentation.
to me they came pretty obvious when i started reading about all the security buffs and debuffs that the powers provided.
after that i went back and started to look at the old background simulation that i am personally not a stranger to and that is well documented.
when i started to look on how PP interacted whit the Sim then the picture emerged that i have been basing my tests on.

the only thing that i don't got a base for is how the system geography plays in, that is only my personal feeling and i can be totally wrong about that.

(Why do these forums make copy+paste text black??? Annoying!)

That's a good change. The farming was just ridiculously broken. Log in and out until Anacondas spawn for 200k bounties. I did notice that there are a lot more missions to take out pirates for 150k - 200k. I completed one where I had to kill six pirates, took about 30minutes and I made, roughly, 250-300k through the bounties on these pirates and the reward itself. This was in a Viper, having to run away from one or two AI encounters with 2x Vultures and another random(?) ship and I wasn't pledged or in a controlled territory. You could easily make 450k in 20-30minutes in a Viper if you're pledged to a combat power that's rank 1(50% increase in bounties). I also noticed Strong Signal Sources spawning Anaconda's and Python's that were trying to set up traps as opposed to them usually just being System Defence Fleets that do nothing. It was a welcome surprise and felt good to have to run away in shock with missiles being flung at me(Not that they really did anything to my shields...).

Not a good change at all in my book. Farming was "broken"? Seriously? I mean, maybe it was a bit dull, but considering that even when you got a 200k per kill anaconda instance, you still couldn't possibly get as good a money:time ratio out of it as you can trading... If they're going to make it take a ton of work to find the high value targets they need to buff the payout a LOT, or why would I ever bother with anything other than trading when I'm effectively losing money every second I'm doing it?

I dont know what all these "bounty system is broken" is on about. i made 2 Mil in 2 hours. i fought 3 clippers in a wing. 6 pythons. 10 FDS. you just need to find a good place. i found a good RES not HIGH or LOW just RES and it paid well.

i did a bounty mission hunting an anaconda and it paid 250.000 for the ship and 150.000 for the mission. the only thing i agree on is no Anacondas in RES but the rest is there. the trick is to go to system map. click the Control Filter on the left panel. and check the "GREEN" systems which are the most profitable exploited systems. these will have the richest RESs.

For any hudson Supporters. check Vega.

I haven't seen an Anaconda in a RES but I did find a wanted one in supercruise so they still exist. Sadly it didn't go very well. Turns out that dangerous rated Anacondas really are dangerous now, especially when they're in a wing and you aren't.

The old res full of big juicy ships were great for increasing your riches, but it was much too easy and unrealistic. For anyone in a strong anaconda it was like clay pigeon shooting. Power play has bought more challenges more opportunity and more realism which is great.

If you're in an anaconda you don't need money, old good spawn in a res was fun , with the new AI it would definitely be a challenge to try and fight a stream of big ships by yourself, but instead I get white knights defending the new missions

Btw to qualify for the good payouts on these missions you would have had to have bounty "farmed"

Plus res site hunting was a great way to play with your friends, and any competent pilot wasn't relying on the space cops to make 4 million an hour, people that think that have no true experience with the old res sites

I suppose I shouldn't care now that I have my trading Python which btw easily out makes even the old bounty "farming" by mindlessness going from a to b

Combat carries risks, now even more, why should "trading" so many multiples easier and more profitable

P.S going from one pad to another is way more farming than RES ever was
