Newcomer / Intro no mouse in full screen , and a few questions

Hello

so I just started out have done the training mission and have started the game from scratch.

I have a joystick so have set up it up under the options in the menu.

I have a few problems. ive started off at TREVITHICK Dock

the screen gives me the option of

startport servicesnsure
return to surface
launch

However I see the mouse pointer to click on return to surface, or launch

I can click on the trigger button on the joystick that goes to starport services, how do i click on return to surface or launch ??

If i hit ESC the menu comes up and mouse curser is then present.

Also before I do anything, I want to insure the ship. how do I do this please.

The buttons to navigate through the menus for a joystick are configurable and as I don't know exactly what joystick you have I cant be sure but try some of the hat switches if you have them. If you still can't find the answer you can change the control assigned by pressing ESC and using the Option controls menu. Its a long list of controls but the controls are in there somewhere.

As for insuring the ship, that has already been purchased for you as part of the enrolment into the Pilots Federation, BUT beware of the Excess! If you lose your ship there will be a fee to get back into a ship with the same configuration, how much this is depends on you ship, its free for the stock Sidewinder but gets to about 5% of the total ships cost (I think there is a figure somewhere in your status display). If you lose a ship you lose the cargo too, so don't invest all your money into cargo keep a chunk back so you can afford the insurance excess and have some money to make a living.

Menus like that can be navigated with WASD or the equivalent on your joystick setup.

Insurance is automatic; the rebuy cost for your current ship and equipment is listed in the systems panel to your right (press "4").

Do you have a point of view hat switch on your joystick? That is what works for those menus for me on my TM HOTAS X.

For navigating tabs within menus the 'Q' and 'E' is used for previous tab, next tab.
