Engineers No point in engaging with Engineers for at least a month?

The commodities are easy to get. What needs to be fixed is the material Exquisite Focus Crystals. they have been removed since 2.2. I see nothing about them in the patch notes.

In the Live Stream they confirmed that it is a bug, and that they are working on a fix, which will be available sometime soon, although it's not part of the beta, it's a separate fix.

It's been roughly 3 weeks since I touched Engineers. The Biotech Conductors issue was a slow asphyxiation of the game for me. I don't see any reason to burn a lot of time and energy doing missions when there is a critical element that I simply cannot get, for which the developers have decided is okay to be broken for literally months.

Idunno. It's just very disappointing.

I could also use another 20 storage slots. I'm going to have to buy a new ship exclusively to store my cannons and bursts, as I intended to roll maybe 7 of each. Just finished my 4 week sentence with Aisling to get some additional Prismatics, so I'll have 1 of each relevant size (4/5/6/7/8). Those will put me at like 55/60. 100 slots would be perfect so I don't have to waste time juggling parts between ships.

Doesn't make much difference to me. Was never a real issue getting and holding commodities for me. I just got them when i had everything else.

So to sum up. Because some players do not want to do the work to find parts (game play) they are going to make every who has done it waste there time?

Fine line between grind and game play. But we need something to do, apart from seal clubbing new players and killing others who are not able to fight back.

@lupin... yes, youve got it. We once again pander to the vocal minority. Anything to the contrary just gets drowned out or ignored. Taking something that was working and quite a lot of fun and dumbing it down till it becomes almost meaningless. But weve been there before and no doubt we will again...

Right now... Engineers is grindy and boring. The RNG is a completely stupid mechanic. It doesn't make sense at all and breaks so-called immersion.

It's gotten to the point that I am ignoring all this "change this and change that".

I have three ships and they are pretty much maxed out with decent rolls (though I played with fish at Quent's and got my DD5 on the Corvette to 280/370). Some of the changes will be beneficial from the BETA.

The changes will come or not, and we will all adapt, die or head out to the void.

Wait till the dust settles, then make sense of it all (?!). No hurry.

So they'll remove commodities for good. That's very(!) fine, but it won't happen until the new year - the end of the beta.
So at this moment it is quite a waste of time to grind the commodities and level with engineers if it will be much less painful soon. Hmm, i wish they could squeeze the commodity removal into the game earlier.

The changes so far in the Beta are significant enough that I would definitely advise players wait for the update before getting too carried away with upgrading their ships.

Many of the current upgrade elements are being removed and new ones added. The re-rolls the game has done to my existing LIVE server upgrades have been rather significant. So again... If you want to keep the upgrades you work so hard to achieve, definitely wait until the updated version of the whole Engineers system.

@gg7... interesting. Can you be a bit more specific? Ive been meaning to get into beta myself but im just too busy whizzing round the engineers upgrading my fleet before this lot goes live ;-)
