Is it a bug? Have I done something wrong? Please explain the logic of this.
Horizons No rewards for Multicrew when on passenger missions

The only rewards you can get in multicrew period, right now are shares of bounties, same as with Wings. Except in multicrew you can only ever expect to earn a 50% max share of a bounty, and even then that's only if you're Elite. 3% if you're Harmless and everything else in between.

What would you be doing that would warrant payment, enjoying the scenery? I don't believe passenger missions were supposed to pay in multi crew were they? It would be fun for showing someone a cool tourism site, but I wouldn't expect a mission reward...
Multicrew is a feature where you lock yourself out of 2/3rds of the games advertised content so you can point lasers at things or pilot a less interesting version of ships you've already flown.
Surely it would be in keeping with the ethos of being a crew member, to be paid if you are on-board and part of the crew, whatever kind of mission you undertake. Even the NPC pilots get a better deal than human crew members
And looking at it from a purely gameplay perspective, not being paid for most of the mission types that can be undertaken, very much undermines the usefulness of this feature to players. I'm sure in due course we will see updates to address this sort of thing, as currently the wing and multi-crew features are under-specced. For any mmo, features that allow players to effectively team up with their friends are core, and much as I'm loving ED (I'm quite a new player) it is missing a few features in this area that seem pretty core.
All that said, my first dose of flying about in a wing with a friend was an epic experience. Much peering in of windscreens was done, before we then just started system hopping together. Sometimes it is the simple things
So can we cut the NPC crew member out too?
