Noob question here...how do i get to Boepp UE-Q e5-2104 system

Just FYI: The other alternative is to block that player - blocking them will mostly stop them instancing with you. (Main menu > Social > Search for CMDR name > Block)

For grinding there is only one set of items, so if there are multiple players you will be sharing them, which isn't ideal for anyone. Not that that guy was there for the mats...
I'll see if i can block, in solo mode i guess the items will just be there for that one instance for me?

I'm going to have to play in offline mode, just spent the last hour getting killed on each occassion trying to land at Dav's Hope, same person killed me each time, even after i quit to menu....some kind of thermal attack, not sure, ship shields go and drop out sky and die...
Yea so in open play you can be targeted by another Cmdr with no apparent reason and even if you're not combat focused they may be and you'll need to figure out a defence/avoidance plan.

There's nothing wrong with a private group ( i.e. Mobius) or solo especially for visiting popular places but open play can be risky during CG's and PP etc.. If you don't mind getting blowed up in a hail of plasma and bullets then you get it and will learn from experience 👊

Good luck out there Cmdr and if your journeys bring you to Colonia look me up. I know a few upstanding folk around that could probably show you some fun without too much notoriety. 😏

Thanks, i've heard people talk about Colonia before, never been, but once I get my Frame Shift Drive upgraded, I'll be venturing great distances :)

You can get a double engineered FSD at a tech broker. Double engineered means it get 2 engineering instead of 1, so they are better than everything you can do. It's a size 5 FSD which fit most explorers ship (DBX, asp, krait phantom).
It's called "FSD V1" at tech broker.
Wiki have the cost near the bottom :

In the event you are trying to upgrade one by hand.

Also, if you don't know, you can get a FSD booster, which is alien technology found in Guardian ruins. The whole thing is really cool, and the fsd booster is invaluable for exploring.

That sounds ideal. I'm currently doing the Felicity Farseer route to imcreasing FSD range..so maybe i should re-route to the Tech Broker and get the FSD V1 ?

There is also something known as the Neutron Highway which you can use to quickly get to Colonia. Neutron stars are slightly dangerous (and white dwarfs even more so), but if you fly through one of the cones it gives your ship a 4x boost in jump range. So a ship capable of a 40ly jump can all of a sudden do a 160ly jump. Don't forget to bring an AFMU as each jump will cause wear on your FSD, so you'll have to repair it every once in a while.

You should yes. As I said, the double engineered FSD is literally 2 engineering at once, which is impossible through regular engineering. So yes, it's the best :)
However, it's only a size 5, as I said, it shouldn't be a problem, but if you use a ship with something else than size 5, then it will be :)

So i went to the Tech Broker and it doesnt list the FSD V1, i'm at Ray Gateway...all the tech broker stuff is red, and mostly Guardian...will a different Tech Broker have it do you think?

EDIT: OK looks like it needs to be aHuman Tech Broker, I'll try that :)

FSD is a HUMAN tech broker. Guardian tech broker are for alien stuff.

Nothing is as easy in ED :D

EDIT : didn't read the edit....

That's super helpful, thanks for the infographic, sounds dangerous too! :)
It is.

Oh, and if you try this, bring an AFMU. Each supercharge will take something like 2% from the health of your FSD. Once the health drops below 80%. you get the chance of the FSD randomly failing. If that happens while you're inside the cone - Good Luck!

And if you try to fix the FSD while you're in Supercruise, do it well away from any astronomical objects 😁.

There is ine Neutron star within the Bubble, if you want to give tthis a try while within a reasonably safe environment - Jackson's Lighthouse. Otherwise, the Neutron Stars are concentrated in four "fields" within the Galaxy:

Which means that you'll need to go up (or down) by ~1000 ly in order to enter those fields when you want to travel to Colonia.

Awesome, thanks, can't wait to start giving that a go, and with the necessary repair items. I'm currently on a moon mining some materials for the FSD upgrade, had real trouble finding a landing spot and hull is now down to 28%...is it repair limpets that repair the hull, i don't have any so will be returning to port to fix up later today.

AKA, "white dwarf are not your friend".
Neutron star are OK.

Yeah, the first time I tried that to learn, it was a white dwarf. Anyway, the insurance claim was cheap since it was a DBX.

Fun fact, FC can orbit in the exclusion zone of a white dwarf and when you try to dock you take damage (with all the rocking, alarm and whatnot). Happened to me a few days ago as I went to buy some odyssey engineering mats. Thanks to autodock I was able to land, but I used the rescue pod to get back :D

Hold on, what do you mean FSD Booster?! :) I noticed that my drive is engineered to Level 4, i should probably get it to Level 5?
FSD V1 is a double engineered module. It means it's engineered with 2 different engineering to the max. It's impossible to do so on our own, the item is completely unique. And straight up better than ANYTHING you could make yourself.
Trying to "engineer" it yourself will remove the existing engineering and replacing with the one you pick, essentially downgrading it (from 2 engineering to just one). So, don't do it ? I'm not your mum, so it's just an advice :D

The only exception are for experimental engineering (the little bonus on top like "mass manager"), you can add one safely.

The FSD booster is a piece of alien tech (from the now extinct guardian race) which can boost your FSD range up to a flat 10ish ly. It comes in 5 size (from 1 to 5) and if you unlock them, you unlock them all for future purchase (at a station that sell them), unlike the FSD v1 which is a single "purchase" per trade.
So, say you can jump 10ly and put a size 5 fsd booster ? You can now jump 20ish ly !
